  1. By Jeffers making contact they scored a run. If Jeffers strikes out there is no run scored.
  2. They can't call up a pitcher unless they send one down per the rule that allows no more than 13 pitchers on the active roster.
  3. I would have put Miranda in at 2nd place and move Lewis to 3rd with Santana 4th. Now that miranda is healthy he should be a big part of the team for quite a while. I see him as a regular at 1st next year.
  4. The Twins made a wise decision signing him. The natural charisma he exudes is good for the clubhouse in addition to playing some of the best defense at SS in the game. He was hurt last year and gutted his way thru it. Now he's healthy and hitting better than he ever has. Twins get an A+ on his signing!
  5. IMO they need to put Varland in the pen. He doesn't need a sinker there. I agree with the philosophy of refining what the player does well. Varland throws hard so let him relieve where he doesn't really need a bunch of different pitches.
  6. I think they will try to get at least 1 more bullpen arm. Like the others I just don't see them shelling out for a rental type starter. Though they sure could use one.
  7. Buxton was so bad last year this year it looks like he may be trying to make up for it. BB just isn't cut out for regular DH duties. It sure is nice watching him in CF this season. Now, the question for me is can he be consistent? This latest hot streak probably won't last, but when it's over how does he look at the plate? IMO if he can keep his avg. in the .260 to .280 and keep his OPS above .750 he is worth every penny they pay him.
  8. IMO next year will see an OF of Castro, Buxton, and Larnach with Martin the 4th. IF of Lewis, Correa, Lee, and Miranda.
  9. I never lost confidence in Miranda. Last year was injury related and I figured, given a chance, he would do well when healthy. Larnach has seems to have figured out that letting so many off speed pitches would be low or out of the zone, and to let them go. Even last season he was driving in runs. This year, so far, he is hitting the ball hard all over the place. Sadly, many of them have been at-'em balls. I expect him to be a big part of the team going forward.
  10. I'm a bit concerned about Duran. Losing as much velo as he has is a big warning sign. Is he still hurting but not telling the training staff, or does he need more build up time? Idk but they should be trying to figure it out and soon!
  11. IMO he can get his reps in with the big club. He's proved what he needs too in St. Paul. Now it's time to find out what he can do against MLB pitchers. At least know what they have moving forward.
  12. I'd still do it. He is hitting poorly, his defense, though OK, hasn't been anything special, and they need to make room for Lee.
  13. I wonder if the FO can admit to making a mistake by signing Farmer for as much as they did. If I was making the decisions Farmer would be DFA'd and sent to St. Paul to see id he can revive himself enough to be a late call up. Lee would be brought up to be the every day 2nd baseman.
  14. I worry that someone is going to get seriously injured. Correa was hit on the wrist, but if that would have been on the hand there would probably be broken bones. With so many wearing body armor they don't fear the HBP as much.
  15. I think they have to do whatever they can to sign him. It would be crazy to let this guy walk and tear it up with another team like Ortiz did. Do they need to sign him now? Not really, but IMO they should be at least starting to negotiate. The advantage for Lewis signing would be a better contract than he'd get in arbitration. Would Lewis take a little off the price to stay here? IDK.
  16. Whoa slow down. SWR for ROY? Awfully early to think that way. Season is only 1/2 way through. When was the last time a pitcher won ROY? Has happened very often? I remember Fulmer and Hellickson and maybe Verlander?
  17. No I haven't yet. I found out My sister has the Jersey from that night somewhere sh says. She got both of them from my folks when they passed. My brother got one also. Can't wait til she finds them again.
  18. I went to that game. Sir Rodney was so good.
  19. If he can do a 5 and fly with3 runs or less it would be a successful debut!
