  1. I don't see Kikuchi as anything more than a 5th starter for the Twins. Sure they could use him, for depth if nothing else, but I wouldn't want to give up much in that trade. Scott would be a big plus in the pen, but with so many other teams interested, he will probably cost a lot for a rental.
  2. Atrade for Snell would be great, but I don't know if this FO is open to taking a chance like that. Especially after the Mahle trade.
  3. I fear we are in for a disappointing trade deadline. Other teams have already gotten some players for less than I expected. Yet this FO seems to think they can wait everyone out.
  4. Agreed, but it's fun to dream about him in the Twins rotation!
  5. I don't see an opening on the 40 man at this time. We'll see what happens with the trade deadline (if anything) in a few days.
  6. Really enjoy these articles. Brings back many memories!
  7. Pretty impressive numbers. Looks like a future 2-3 starter if he can keep it up!
  8. They could have gotten Paxton pretty cheap. He went to the Red Sox for a minor leaguer.
  9. Miranda and Julian look like the most obvious. I can't help but wonder if they will try to bring Santana back.
  10. I've been told the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
  11. I doubt any of these will be Twins. As stated above, getting a starter is the most important move they must make. That's going to cost some money (not to mention a prospect or two) that would raise the payroll. I think ownership would approve a small bump in payroll for the pitcher, but more payroll, as high as Vlad or Alonso may be a bridge to far. Pederson as a primary DH just doesn't track as the way Rocco uses the spot for a rotation of guys as a way to get a break off their feet. Not a necessity IMO.
  12. After them there is the problem with AK. Will he ever turn into the hitter he was projected to be or will he even be with the club next year?
  13. It seems obvious to me that Castro is not a starting caliber ss. Good for a fill in or spot start there but I would put Lee there for a few games and let Willi play 3rd until Lewis comes back. I assume Julian will be sent out when all are healthy so then Castro can split some time at 2nd with Lee. Of course things can change if Julian can start hitting, but what are the odds of that?
  14. As long as they make getting a starter the priority I'm fine with a LH relief pitcher.
  15. I'm open to a trade, but IMO they need to do better if they are going to give up a guy with a bright future. I don't think Kikuchi is a guy that makes the team a lot better. Although, they may be desperate now.
  16. I also believe it depends on who they would give up in a trade. IMO it's not worth trading any of the top 20-25 rated prospects.
  17. He looked very good at 2nd last night. The kid has worked very hard at his defense, and it looks to be paying off. I'm more interested in how well he hits!
  18. Good series. I would like to see another one but with totals instead of just best seasons.
  19. Imagination, isn't it fun. The only kind of trade for any of these would surely be a top notch starter, and I don't think they want to spend that kind of money in salary. Even getting bucks salary off the books wouldn't be enough. Correa isn't going anywhere.
  20. Thielbar has looked better recently. Age is bound to catch up with all athletes, its an outcome that can't be changed. Caleb will fill a purpose the rest of the season, just not that reliable late inning guy he has been. I still trust him more than Okert or Funderburk.
  21. None of these are going to be traded at the deadline unless the team tanks before then. Even then, I don't see any of these traded.
  22. I still think they can do better than Margot, but during the last off season, they had no idea how some in the minors would adapt to this season. IMO Martin should take his place next year. I am really surprised at how well Santana has played and hit. When they signed him I thought it was a huge mistake. Shows what I know. But the amount of money they threw at Farmer is still a big surprise to me.
