  1. I'm really not surprised by Miranda and Buxton doing well, now that they seem to be healthy. Biggest surprise to me is Staumont and to a lesser extent Alcala. I can't wait to see the list of biggest disappointments.
  2. I can see them passing Cleveland if they can get and then stay healthy. They have the hitting, but the pitching is going to need to improve a bit.
  3. Killebrew will be busy manning 3 positions!
  4. IMO attendance has been greatly effected by ownership telling all that payroll would be so drastically cut. It turned off many fans. Then the start of the season hurt, and about the time they started winning, cable companies cut off the games.
  5. maybe, but Martin plays OF more, and Julian would probably bring more in a trade IMO.
  6. I could see them making a deal for Flaherty. I don't know how far they are willing to open the Pohlads wallet for anyone though.
  7. I wonder if Keaschall's outstanding start puts Julian on the trading block?
  8. It's amazing to me how a guy was cut from a poor team, expected to play in AAA, gets his chance due to injuries, and in a year and half gets picked for the all star team! Sounds like a Hollywood script. The Twins would be lost w/o him.
  9. I agree with you. Now that Margot is hitting that probably gives Margot a longer leash. At this point I would see them sending Martin down, at least until Margot turns back into a pumpkin!
  10. Vasky is by far a better defensive catcher, and IMO he also calls a better game. Yes, he didn't hit last year and really sucked at hitting to begin the year. He has been hitting lately, and if he can get his avg. up to the .220-,230 range he is worth the $$. He's not going anywhere which is probably a good thing since they have a couple of rookie pitchers starting about 40% of the games.
  11. I thought she did a pretty good job, with help from the ex-players. Something was wrong with the sound on DirecTV though. Sounded tinny and sound lagged behind video.
  12. The MLB draft is really a crap shoot, more so than most other sports.
  13. Larnach has been fairly clutch with his hits. Last season he was leading the team in RBI early when he got sent down. This year he's crushing pitches so IMO that avg. will go up. One thing this FO has been pretty good at is finding hitters in the draft.
  14. Too early to judge. It was his 1st taste.
  15. He has looked very good so far. If he keeps hitting I can't see him going back down. When Lewis comes back I would put Lee at 2nd, move Castro to OF or anywhere someone needs a break. Castro is so valuable!
  16. He was hot early this year but has cooled a lot in June. Still have time to put up decent numbers yet this year. I think the only way he is with them next year would be to take a sizeable hometown discount. I don't know how he feels about that but IMO that is unlikely. Some team will offer him more money or longer term or both.
  17. It looks as if the hitting philosophy is starting to change for the Twins. For the last 5 years or so it seemed like they were trying so hard to lift the ball over the fences. The last couple of months they seem to try more line drives, hitting the ball hard where its pitched. IMO, the results speak for themselves.
  18. Just using the eye ball method I would have guessed Larnach. Surprised it was Margot.
  19. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him get traded, maybe even by the deadline this season.
  20. My guess is pretty close to yours. 1B- Juian, Miranda 2B-Lee, Martin 3B- Lewis, Miranda SS- Correa, Lee, Castro LF- Castro, Martin CF-Buxton, Martin RF-Larnach, Wallner C-Jeffers, Vazquez So you have Castro, Buxton, Larnach, Martin, Wallner for OFers, Miranda, Julian, Lee, Correa, Lewis, Jeffers and Vazquez IFers. 12 position players.
  21. And how long have hitters had the advanced video, and detailed advance scouting, not to mention advanced year round training? IMO it's a wash.
