  1. I think Gardenhire and perhaps the Pohlad's were to quick to bench, let go and just not work with the Latino players. I also think they including Molitor played the "popular" players to get the fans who were just coming for the Target Field experience. Escobar was one of the first who made it impossible to keep him on the bench. Last year Dozier, Kepler, Mauer, Grossman and Morrison all reasons throughout the year to be on the bench. This year all the guys have gelled and push each other for a spot to play. The last few there was just a few open and with this front office and manager they seem to be giving playing time to those who deserve it.
  2. I went on Thursday night with Gibson starting. It was nerve wracking for most of the game because you just don't know what you have. I was glad he got pulled early because he is so slow and boring! The game is probably 30 minutes longer when he is in.
  3. What if the Twins have a 3 game losing streak and Cleveland keeps winning. Cleveland is not going down easy. I am sure they will be fine but it really is not over yet for Cleveland and anything is still possible.
  4. This is getting more and more exciting. Remember when we couldn't buy a home run. Dozier was good for quite a few during his good half season but besides him there was never a player where you knew there was a legimate shot. Now we go a night w/o one and it is noticeable. That is a good thing! So looks like we make the playoffs, will we be happy with one and done? I hope for 87 again but think I will be happy with just one series and this new team. This team has fighters and they are earning their playiing time which is far different than the last 10 years when the favorites played even when a non favorite was on a roll. Oh well hopefully now that is over and these guys keep pushing each other knowing there is someone on the bench that could take their spot. Love it!
  5. I am not in panic mode yet, but preparing myself for a let down. We go through this in MN every year with at least one or all of our teams.
  6. Off topic but does anyone have DISH? Did you get a lower monthly bill w/o FSN? I did not and think because it is my most watched channel in the summer I would get a healthy refund, not just a couple of bucks. That DISH dude goes on an on about saving us money when in fact they are only saving themselves for now. If you got a refund how did you do it?
  7. It is fun to go from a team who had hardly any power to this. I always thought that is what we were missing a 1st and DH, never imagined we would get so much more. When I would wish for power at 1st and DH I was mostly told that Mauer and Grossmans (or whoever they slotted in) OBP was just as important. Last year was the worst. We had a lead-off who had a horrible season but they kept trotting him out there. FINALLY!
  8. Well that was fun! Smeltzer looked good but I don't get to excited because I have been told it takes a bit for teams to figure him out but hooray we got the win! Romos is going to be fun to watch too. Our last minute big name signing on the DL already? Is that just to give him some time? Settle the fans down? But the BP mowed them down today and yes it was only KC but last week it was the Marlins who took them to school. Here comes the roller coaster we have all been waiting for! I think we will be at the top for the most of it. Happy happy fan!
  9. Not paying $50 for it. I can watch game day with all the fake baseball players and listen to the radio. I do miss watch Berrios pitch and the sluggers slug but I survived the week.
  10. Hulu did not work at least with the 5.99 or 11.99 per month option. Did not want to sign up for 5 day 49.99 per month option. Using Fox Sports Go and my daughters account login. Thank goodness. I was starting to freak out for sure.
  11. Dyson blamed himself on the first game. He should have been able to close out a team like Miami and he didn't. Because I have DishTV I have not been able to watch so didn't see or hear any comments from him on last nights game. Two games not a great impression but hopefully in a couple of weeks we can calm down. I am starting to get nervous though. I am not sure what to do about Dish TV? Has anyone switched yet? I don't want to switch because I like PrimeTime Anyway and we have lot's of kids movies recorded but I don't want to miss the rest of the season. Any advice?
  12. Good guy. I always remembered his name from spending time with a little girl with terminal cancer. He was her idol and did not disappoint.
  13. I am okay. After we see what they can do I hope that I don't get nervous feeling every time they go to the BP. I am not relaxed or confident with anyone at all. I want a person who can stop the bleeding which has been tough. Or a person that can go in and have a 1, 2, 3 more often than not!
  14. Help! If you have Dish TV, how long are you going to wait before changing. I do not want to change but I don't want to miss the rest of baseball season. I have been waiting 10 years for this. Is Dish really trying to save us money or does FSN need more money to pay people like the Pohlads. I am so torn. I have MLB on my iPad and can listen. It is okay but yesterday I really missed watching Berrios. What are your or would you do?
  15. I followed a CaringBridge page for a terminally ill little girl when Romo was in SF. He was good to her. Seems like a good guy. Sometimes you need to think about fitting in too. Also he has playoff and World Series experience.
  16. Does anyone remember about 5 years ago, maybe more when the Twins wanted Cruz but the other team wanted Hicks.
  17. We have a great team, just what we have been waiting for all these years. Always excited to watch our #1 starter (Berrios) and then Ordorizzi. For the first time in a long time we have excitement when several players are up to bat hoping for a home-run! With that said there are ex-Twins that are killing it now. I saw Pressley on the AS roster and read his stats! He is doing amazing. Escobar is the best hitter for AZ, Hicks doing well in NY. Even Suzuki is doing pretty well. It is a fun game to watch for sure!
  18. Mauer is gone so seems Sano is the new one to hate on. Last year there was a lot of disappointment in Polanco and look where he is now. Sano needs at least 2 years with this new coaching staff before he gets the boot. This staff if more in line with NYY or Boston coaching as we can see by all the improvements in this team. Sano has not been her as long as the rest. But since the team is doing so well you would think we could just sit back and enjoy baseball as they are playing. For the most part even when they lose it is an exciting game.
  19. Mauer had tons of criticism and now on to Sano. That was my comparison. My point is let’s enjoy the season. I think Sano’s talent will come. Too early to keep harping on him like many did to Mauer.
  20. Is Sano the next Mauer? The one people will love to hate. Goodness we have an awesome team now. Just what we have been waiting for. Can't everyone just enjoy this then to try to find faults and flaws in what is a pretty talented player. Maybe just a year or two and then get back to the moaning and groaning and complaining.
  21. In the workplace if you knew a co-worker was making 10x more than you and contributed the same or less it would be toxic. It is human nature.
  22. That pitching was awesome. As dangerous as Buxton's wall crash was it fun to watch back. Looked like a cartoon where the character splats up against the wall.
  23. I am a believer because they are all believers. We haven't had this type of energy from a team since the M&M days. It may not be roses and HR's every game but this team believes in themselves and each other.
  24. Twins still don't get much love from MLB.com. Rarely an article on the front page.
