  1. It seems we will be seeing what we "kind of" want and that is to see the youngsters and what we have. It will be painful but no more than watching our supposed 2021 contenders continue to flail/fail.
  2. Kepler needs to be sat out until he shows he can play. Anyone with less than a .200 average should be what is it called "riding the pine". He needs to kick it into gear and show he deserves a place in the line-up. I don't think he is a fan fave like Sano. Give the new guys a bit longer but it is time to let them know they need to earn their playing time. Bring back Austidillo and let him play outfield, what is the harm? Austidillo is a fan favorite and plays the game hard each and every time and has a .254 average. Refsnyder and Gordon. Let them play out 2021 and only use Kepler as sub or fill in to give someone a day off.
  3. Berrios and Buxton are the only 2 memorable players they have managed to get here and it took almost 10 years. What is going on with our first round #1 player Royce something or other. Either he is not good and they made a huge blunder or they are wasting away his time just so they won't have to pay him sooner than they have to. This team is a joke and always will be.
  4. The only games I watch now are when Berrios pitches. I have Dish so can't watch many games on TV. Watching on my iPad Pro is uncomfortable and the team stinks! I would watch more if Buxton were back he adds such excitement to a game and a better chance of winning. All that aside with Twins front office is in a pickle. I don't think either of the B's want to stay so if we don't trade we don't get anything and if we trade some loyal fans are going to be angry. If they want to stay they should do everything in their power to keep them. Berrios is the pitcher we have been waiting for for 10+ years and a guy like him another team would most likely have MN on their no trade list. Buxton and rightly so is mad about the service time issue. I think both of these players want to win a pennant or at least be on a team that has a chance. If I were a player at their caliber I would be in severe depression if this was how I would spend the best years of my career. Money isn't everything! So only for B&B's sakes am I hoping for a trade.
  5. I am going to go with the he doesn't want to be here and will get through the next year and wait it out. I would want to go to a contending team and the Twins will never be that. What fun is 162 games and then you are done, same goes for Berrios. They don't seem like players who are all about the money.
  6. I would like to keep them both and think the Twins organization should pay them. I think one issue will be....do they want to play here? I think they would take less to play on a team that is at least a contender every year so they potentially can make it to a WS. I would love to know how many talented players have the Twins on listed in their contact as a no trade team.
  7. Seems the winning streak started when Buxton came back. We have seen time after time people say it is a different team when he is playing. How sad!
  8. Game was late but I did enjoy what I saw. I don't really care about stats except for the basic ones. I love to watch the game and the players. I live to see Berrios pitch, Buxton to field and Cruz/Sano to bat. Sadly most of these guys will be gone by next year and while I would miss them I want the best for them and unfortunately getting traded to a new team with a pennant race chance. They play the game hard and are so darn good at it. It's kind of like wanting the best for your kids and letting them go. I have zero hopes of this team ever amounting to much. If ever it should have been this year, this is what we have been waiting for since Target Field opened. Sure we won the Division last year but to me one and done is the same as losing. Getting to the WS is a winner! Can anyone on here really way that will ever happen? We don't rebuild, we find used parts and try to glue something together and it NEVER holds. I want so much to stop being a broken hearted fan, but I do love the game just not this organization. It is not small market or TV money. I don't know what it is!
  9. Shoemaker? Really? I actually saw Rocco's face/demeanor while he was pitching? Did he give up an HR on the very first batter? If so I would have yanked him out by the hair. When is enough is enough of Shoemaker? Sorry to be so mean but I am not great with stats and numbers so I could be dead wrong.
  10. Do they need to overhaul the medical/training staff?
  11. I would go with no development. They keep them in the minors far too long while dumpster diving hoping for a miracle.
  12. Bring up they new players and let the underachievers play for their spot in the lineup.
  13. No timetable for Burton’s return. Last week it was said he would be back as soon as this upcoming week.
  14. I am ready to get blasted so have at it. I am starting to care less and less about the Twins. I don't make it a point to be home or even watch when I am. Heck I just realized they have probably started today. I am not a wizard of statistics. I get ERA, Avg, RBI's and HRs but the rest I don't care about. I was a huge Twins fan. Heck I used to go to games by myself at the Metrodome. I could get a good seat for a good price. Been to Target field ONCE where I actually paid for the tickets because I like baseball and was not there for the Target field experience. The prices are so inflated that I would rather watch in the comfort of my own home now. The one time I did pay it had to have been over $250. Almost choked when a cheeseburger and fries at a ball park was $12. A bottle of Mountain Dew $6.00, what the heck! However we just signed Mauer, we had Mourneau and Hunter and I got so excited again for at least one year. Now all my memories are only sad. We have been rebuilding since we got to Target field, except maybe the first couple. No playoff wins if any that stand out as the most exciting game I have ever seen at Target Field. It has been rebuild, rebuild for the last 10 years. Thought we finally made I think the first year Cruz was here, Berrios, Buxton, Kepler, Sano, Rosario, Escobar, Dozier. I was more than excited. Well that last 2 season were fun but here we go again talking about trading or have traded some of the above. The only one that probably need to go was Dozier because we could not afford a player who had half a good year and the other half was a long slump. To me there is nothing more exciting than watching Berrios pitch or Buxton just playing. Love Cruz and Sano too. I really wouldn't miss the remaining players at all they add no excitement to the game and that is what I am looking for. Winning the league, making it through at least round one of the play-offs (I don't count the wildcard). I like Berrios so much I want to see him traded while he still has the ability to be an Ace. Not going to happen here especially when he may or may not get run support. I mean seriously a pitcher going into the 9th inning holding on to a one run lead are gone. Goodness it seems the coaches are much quicker to pull the trigger. I don't think it will be long before a pitchers max innings are cut down to 5 or 6. They don't let them work themselves out of a jam when we get to those innings and Twins fans have to watch the bull-pens give it all up. Buxton is so damn exciting when he plays and that seems to be an issue again in 2021. All this blabbering just because I think I am totally deflated and can't put up with another 5-10 years of this.
  15. We have had many players set to be stars, don't live up to the Twins expectations get traded and end up being much better on their new team. I don't think it would hurt his value as a player and most teams would love to have him. It could hurt him $$$ wise but like I said I do not think it is all about money for all players.
  16. We have had this same conversation almost every year since the 1990's. Every year hoping they are retooling or rebuilding. Yes we have a couple of AL Central League titles but that is it. No playoff wins to me makes negates that tile.
  17. This is one of the harder players to keep or part with. With the way the season is going and the past 20 years, MY feeling is the Twins will never ever ever be a contender. I would guess players like Berrios would prefer to get traded and with the history we have seen will improve on a different team. I don't like to think that players would play at a level to get traded, but with all his talent I wonder how he feels about spending the next 2 prime years of his career being on a team that will never be a contender. I don't think for many players it is all about money. They probably dream of starting a WS game or hitting a game winning HR in game 7 of a play-off game. Not going to happen here (sorry, I know that is negative). I 100% believe Jose can be a #1 on any team, he may be deflated on this team and just trying to get through the next 2 years but bet he is hoping he gets traded sooner rather than later. I don't like numbers just love watching the game. I tune in every game Berrios pitches but lately he just looks average and that is hard for me because I will think he could win a Cy Young if he is on the right team. I also loved Buxton. I still love watching him play WHEN he does.
  18. I said this a while back and got "scolded". I would trade him now mostly to get something in return while we can. Secondly he most likely wants a team where he has a chance to go deep into the playoffs and that is why he is not signing any type of extension. I really like him and want the best for him and after 30 years w/o a WS appearance combined with every thing else, this team will never be the contender we were asked to believe in when they so badly needed Target field to be contenders. How many years are they into Target now and how many playoff games have they won? Sorry but I am never going to be a glass half full fan it is to disappointing!
  19. All the players we counted on except for Cruz has "disappeared" Sano, Donaldson, Buxton, Kepler and Mehata were heavily counted on and have failed miserably. Not sure which one is the most pathetic. Kepler looks miserable. I think it was late game yesterday when he hit into a double play, while I was super mad at the time the look on his face was blank. I still hold out hope for Sano to be just like Cruz and am about to give up on EVER getting a full season of Buxton. IMO we haven't had a dependable BP for many years. All the numbers I see hurt my head I just want our "stars" to play like that or at least play like the belong in the MLB.
  20. I love him! You can see the joy of playing major league baseball in everything he does. I also think he is a good player that many teams would love to have because of his flexibility in positions! Many fans tune in to see certain players. Mine are Berrios, Sano, Astudillo and Cruz. Buxton is also exciting but so frustraing at the same time.
  21. I know it is only 2 games but they are only 4 games into the season. They need to find some type of migraine medication that he can take daily to prevent if they can. It is just getting annoying and missing 50% of the games the norm. Overreacting yes but when you think of it he is a softy. Old school, my leg is about to fall off would be laughing at him. I have never had a migraine and know that the pain is horrible but we don't even know if that was it. He can sit out with a tummy ache if he wants to.
  22. WE HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH! Why do the Twins always have to go for the cheap players? They will not attract fans, Berrios, Buxton, Sano and Cruz do. They should be shown how the club values them. In my option none will sign an extension if they do not keep Cruz. They will want to go to a team that will be stocking up for a WS or at least a good play-off run. There is more than money involved, these guys also want to win or play in the WS. If they start to rebuild (which I thought was done) most of these guys will be past their prime by the time the Twins get close again. They should keep them all and get another good to great starting pitcher.
  23. Why do we ALWAYS have to talk about trading our talented players? They may not sign extensions because they want to go to a team that can go deep in a pennant chase. This team doesn't appear to be able to do this. Keep them all at the $$$$ they deserve. Why go back to dumpster diving. Players leave here in droves and go on to successful careers. I thought this management team would somehow be different but are they going cheap because of the Pohlads? They may cost money but they bring in the fans. My favorites are anytime Berrios pitches, anytime Buxon gets on base and the excitement of Sano and Cruz is what makes baseball fun. That was what I did not like about Mauer he wasn't exciting after his concussion and even before as he watches the first few pitches and at first was very talented at getting on base if he was down. Not so much at the end and it appeared he didn't really care (I am sure he did but he didn't show it). We have the players we have been waiting for and if the coaches can't bring out their best then we should focus on them.
  24. Or give up too easily (Hicks) or can’t/couldn’t develop them?
  25. Is it partly because the Twins keep players in the minors too long?
