  1. How about Kepler? He seems to fly under the radar. The guy has a .210 batting average with only 41 RBIs for the whole season. I have heard he has a team friendly contract but a guy with a .210 batting average should be looked at for being replaced
  2. Have there been any discussion about the Twins medical staff and the ability to keep players (mostly pitchers) healthy? So many injuries and the pitchers barely ever make it to the 7th inning so I don't think they could be contributed to overuse?
  3. Worth it? Trades with NYY alway make me nervous. Luis Gil
  4. Why? We want good players. Who would you want instead?
  5. Exactly. I am one of those who longs for a stable line-up. I have completely stopped watching. Hoping for a way to catch Berrios pitching tomorrow for Toronto otherwise absolutely no reason to watch. I can glance at Game Day if I want to or read the box scores tomorrow to keep up a little. IF Buxton comes back this year I could be enticed to watching regularly again. But you all probably know by now I have to watch on my iPad which I absolutely HATE.
  6. Of course they are going to say they want to stay or "act" sad to leave. Buxton won't sign and Berrios made it clear he was going the free agent route. That is where I get my information from. If you were high caliber player wouldn't you want to go to a team that has a chance at the WS more than every 30 years or wins more 1 playoff game in 10? Also from my currently glass half empty view we are always one prospect away and when they finally go get a quality player they let them go for more prospects?
  7. Perhaps I am wrong but I heard players can have teams they can't be or do not want to be traded to in their contracts. The way Berrios and Buxton can't wait to get out of here tells me some of the players mentioned in the article and comments might have the Twins on the "you can't trade me there". First is that true? If it is do you think many of the all-star type players have the Twins on their list?
  8. So a HUGE miss one our 2017 #1 draft pick. That is pathetic!
  9. Happy for Berrios and happy that I have no reasons to watch until or if Buxton gets back. Hate watching on my iPad!
  10. I certainly would not expect a SS when we have one waiting? I guess if the are moveable, but still makes little to no sense when we need pitching.
  11. Why get a SS when we have Royce Lewis in the wings? Or isn't he anymore. Wasn't he first round, first pick WAY BACK IN 2017? Most of the times none of this makes any sense. So we got a pitching prospect and a SS prospect for one of the best pitchers we have had in the last 20 years?
  12. We don't seem to have prospects stuck behind any major leaguers or barely any that are ready. Are you calling this team not sucky or a good team? We won a couple of division titles, not a huge feat in the ALC. We never even win a post season game yet advance to the next round. We rarely develop our prospects and when we do (Buxton and Berrios) we don't have the ability or money to keep them. This team is really bad, horrible, unwatchable or whatever you want to call it.
  13. I feel for any player or prospect that gets traded to MN. It would be like the player in the movie 42 who got traded to Pittsburgh because they were unwilling to get on board and play with Robinson. Not really sure if it was Pittsburgh but it was a sucky team and no player wanted to go there. I wonder if we are on the no trade list of many of the great players today and that is why we get stuck with prospects or older veterans. To clarify....we were lucky to get a veteran like Cruz but is he here? NOPE! Will we see the prospects we got for him in the near future? DOUBT IT!
  14. they need both Berrios and Buxton no matter the cost. I don't think one will want to stay w/o the other. We need both to contend and they both want to be contenders.
  15. Don't let all this baloney (putting it nicely) make you feel better about anything. Once again the Twins get by without giving out the big payday and they can say "we tried". They have put us through this for YEARS now. First and foremost, is they struggle to get prospects here, healthy and MLB ready. They spend their years at AAA and by the time they get here it is always too late. They need a new medical staff and a staff that can get the propects here before they are 30. Our last first round pick Royce Lewis is no where to be seen. Berrios and Buxton were the guys and now that it is payday time they are going to trade for more prospects or let them walk next year. Am I the only one who sees this glass half empty scenario that plays out time and time again!
  16. Where to send Kepler? 2nd WORST BA in the lineup today? Is he Dozier 2.0? I loved Dozier and never saw him going out like he did!
  17. I don't much care for Bremer and get really annoyed when he brings up pitch count every 5 minutes. It is on the TV, we can see it. I also hate the new pitch count crap. Another huge game changer and it does not usually work out for the best. I would rather have Berrios in the 7/8th inning if he is doing well then all of the sudden bring in someone else who mostly this year lose the game for Berrios. He is one pitcher that can usually work out of a jam and isn't that one of the fun parts of baseball?
  18. I also do not care about stats and think in a way it has "ruined" the game. I liked the days when you would see the same line-up almost every game. Now it is more about righties v lefties and who hit better against who.
  19. IMO Ober has earned his spot in the rotation. Even if he has some bad games this year he will learn from them. Glad to see the other youngsters and hope they stay up too. If they trade Donaldson and Cruz I hope they could bring back Audistillo and use him at first and give Sano DH and perhaps some time at 3rd. I think he is a better hitter when on the field instead of DH'ing only. But I don't know that much. I just like a consistent line-up. I would stop the shuffling around the righties vs lefties and let the rookies get practice hitting against both. Arraez. Polanco, Larnach, Kiriloff. Sano, Austidillo and Kepler are our future. Not sure what they could/should do for catching and I don't like but don't have a reason for hating on Simmons either. We just need Buxton back and play that lineup for the rest of the year. Pitching: Berrios, Mejeda and give Ober, Balazovic and Jax the rest of the year to see what they have. Can't help but can't hurt. Let these guys take their lumps w/o the fear of being send back down.
  20. Throw away the stats and let's start playing the future now and on a regular basis. I like consistency in the lineup. Hopefully something can be acquired by trading Cruz (don't want to but it makes sense). I miss Austidillo. I loved watching him play. Sometimes it is not all about stats.
  21. Never going to happen. I don't think any talented players will come here and most likely have the Twins on their no trade list. The Twins organization will pretend they are all in knowing that it won't happen so they probably will let them walk next year and keep their "pride".
  22. Why the Berrios hate? I love to watching his intensity and how much more it gets when he is in a jam. He is awesome and we will all be sad to see him go and some of us happy for him to go to a better organization. If he spends his prime years here it would be sad to not see him get the accolades he would get and deserves on a better team. He is the only reason I watch now. I love Buxton but he is out. Ober and Majeda are worth a watch and some of the new kids are at least making it interesting.
  23. They gave losing a good shot in the 7th!
  24. I am in your camp. Berrios is the type of player where money isn't all he wants. He wants to play on a team that is a contender. He doesn't want to waste his prime years with this organization. Buxton is also probably looking for brighter lights. Plus the fact they pulled the stunt a few years ago to a save year of paying him. I think their agent knows exactly who wants them and where they want to go. I would not make a deal with the Yankees because they obviously can see talent and unload crap (Hicks and the flash in the pan catcher can't even remember his name trade). I hope they can let them go this year, maybe get something in return and get them out of this depressing mess.
