  1. Can't hurt but why are the Twins always signing or waiting for the hope and pray players. Pretty much sick and tired of it.
  2. When I saw the headline, I was curious that you could find 5 good things. I would give them one and that is Buxton. Nelson Cruz twice? Plus the fact he is no longer here? I see we got some prospects for Nelson but not sure they can be graded for a year. Pineda (hasn't played much). Polonco is a good player. But resigning him is a stretch for a great move. I think 5 is a stretch and the only thing to stay positive are how will the players we got for Nelson Cruz pan out?
  3. At least there will be a larger screen for the fewer and fewer fans that show up.. The scoreboard is part of the second phase of a two-part, $29.5 million project, the cost of which is split evenly between the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Ballpark Authority (MBA), the government agency that oversees the publicly owned building.
  4. Sorry the numbers hurt my head. I wasn't clear but can't any of SS's drafted in the first round be ready? Why draft them otherwise. I would give Gordon this whole year and if he can't hack it move to Lewis. If he can't hack it move to the next. If none of them can make it something is seriously wrong with our scouts!
  5. This may be the dumbest question ever but why can't they use their 1st round draft pick(s) from 2014, 2017 or 2019? Seems silly to waste 3 first round draft picks and not have them ready by 2022. From what I can tell if they do not get a couple of great pitchers it really isn't going to matter anyway.
  6. I think Buxton will tough out the year with the Twins unless they trade him and then walk away at the end of the 2022 season. It would be a perfect way for him to say thanks for messing with my service time! Either way the Twins FO is going to come out bad. We do not get nice things, the FO/organization always figures out a way to avoid paying a superstar and then that bites them more when good to great players DO NOT want to come to this organization. I bet you could count on one hand the great players we have had since Target field opened. Many of the players the Twins let walk have had success with their new teams. Maybe not super star success but way more success than any player we have seen. Polanco and Sano our best players. Sano may be a known player because fans love the HR hitters. Polanco probably not as much. He went to an AS game but not sure he played. How many Twins or who was the last Twin with enough name recognition to be elected? Maybe Mauer? I guess my main point is if seem less and less likely every year that we will ever have a well put together team and will always be watching for patch together dumpster diving teams.
  7. Who do we have that can hit like him? I know there are position players and others who could "fill in" as a DH but we need a real one. Maybe Sano but he seems to be fine for now in the field. I would rather have Cruz any day!
  8. Cruz was the best player signed in the last 20 years. If only to have a "all-star" caliber player on the team. Berrios is gone and Buxton most likely gone. No one left to root for that you would at least even have name recognition outside of the minor league fans.
  9. Chance are they will not pan out. Seems they don't and as soon as they do and have earned the right for more money they are cleared out for another set up "top" prospects that do NOT pan out.
  10. Broken for me. Been here done this without even a playoff win in 20 years!
  11. All these would be amazing. Did anyone see the Twins mentioned in some of the big talks last week. I did not.
  12. It is easy to forget about Duffey and Rogers since they are not everyday players but they are okay? ERA's, etc. do not put them more in the serviceable than upper echelon. Is 30 getting on the older side for pitcher? Still waiting for the 2016. Seems they have a good chance to become MLB quality players, Garver and Kirilloff had quite a few trips to the injured list in 2021????? I agree it is a little early. I feel like we are always "waiting and hoping".
  13. One thing that we never know is if they try to sign players like Rodon but he did not want to come to MN. I think that happens way more often than we know about.
  14. Here we go....betting on and hoping for the magic dust to hit our prospects. Only 2 since 2012 stand out as winners, Berrios and Buxton. The rest have yet to really prove themselves, Glimpses maybe but nothing to get too excited about.
  15. I don't think Buxton will sign here. Besides messing with his service time I am sure he does NOT want to spend the prime of his career with a never ending rebuilding team. I didn't watch much after Berrios was traded so really don't have an opinion on the rest of the players. Even though we are used to this it would be very disappointing not to see something come of the once highly touted Nick Gordon and Royce Lewis.
  16. Don't read this if you do not want to hear a disappointed ticked off fan. I would hate to see Sano go but would love to see him flourish in another environment. Buxton is as good as gone and we will go back to trying to make prospects into above average MLB talent. How much did the Twins medical staff have to do not to keep him healthy? It will be a long time if ever that we will see another Berrios. His success had more to do with his drive for perfection than the Twins development staff. He improved in Toronto in just a few months. It has been a fun reunion watching the WS to see players the front office thought were throw-away's playing on one of the biggest stages in professional sports. I want that to happen for Buxton and Sano. Eddie is getting everything a kid dreams of when playing baseball. WS game with the crowd chanting your name. That is what the All-Stars of the MLB want as much or more than money. The Twins get into the bidding wars knowing most of the big talent players won't come here so they can save face at least pretending they have a shot. Last off-season was the first in MANY years that I was excited that they were finally getting there but it ended up being the worst season ever. Not the number of losses but the overall disappointment and let down. Now if they trade away Sano and Buxton there will be nothing at all to watch or at least no fan favorites to cheer for. We are not going to see another pitcher like Berrios in the near future. Buxton is the most exciting player in the MLB. Besides Polanco and Donaldson I don't think any of our players would be starters for most teams. Adding to this is the greed of the owners that have TV contracts that prohibit a good majority of people from being able to watch the Twins on TV and the cost of going to the games is ridiculous especially to see a bad team play is going to hurt the Twins so need to cut payroll more and more. It is a never ending cycle. I didn't spend any money at all on the Twins this year not even the 3.99 per month fee to listen to them on the internet. Tough for someone who loves the game and I am grateful that I got to be excited to watch the WS and see Eddie thrive. I am sad our kids and grandkids will not get to experience what we did with the 87 or 91 teams or the days of Mauer, Perkins, Morneau, Puckett, Hunter, Cuddyher, Guardardo, etc. What is is like to be on the edge of your seat for all players to get up to bat or watch a meaningful nail-biter game. For that to happen the Twins need new owners and I don't see that happening either.
  17. I hope they out bid to get Berrios back but so much is going to depend of Buxton staying, Sano stepping it up for good and a few other players to be top quality. Otherwise I am afraid no other top tier pitchers will want to come here. I think we need Berrios and one more.
  18. We think of the $$,$$$,$$$.00 that will be required to keep Buxton. He is going to get it from someone maybe the Twins will make an offer but I don't think this is the team he wants to spend the prime of his career on. Messing with his playing time probably didn't do the Twins organization any favors. Eddie said that going to the WS is what they dream of as a kid. Not all will make WS but being a contender for a WS title is something that probably won't happen for Buxton if he stays here. He is going to get a pay day and it will probably be with a super power team. Even Berrio's while he didn't get to the play-offs got to pitch in a very important game and that is what the want as much or more than just the money. Sadly the Twin's can keep or attract the talent needed to go all the way. At least not that I can see in the near future. Berrios is a key example. He is the pitcher we hoped for an wanted for a long time. We just got to start to see his talent and they let him go. Yes they got some prospects but that is what we always get. That and older veterans hoping for one more chance. We got that in Cruz and what happens? They let him go. Others may see a brighter light but I don't think they do well with the prospects because most come here either injured or just not that good.
  19. Wonder what the Vegas odds would be that the most exciting game for Twins fans would be game 6 of the NLCS.
  20. Who cares? I think this has been the highlight of our season. Which Twins players should be discussing? All the ones that mattered to me are gone or on their way out. Except for Buxton, Polanco and Kepler many of our players did not play the majority of the season and I would not know them if I were sitting next to them. If you love baseball this is the kind of story we love.
  21. Any money spent on bringing Cruz back would be worth it. He can hit and is a great presence for the team overall. They can afford him and should not cheap out. Many people like exciting players and don't look at numbers. He is an exciting player as is Sano, Polanco and maybe Donaldson. The new AAA guys should be brought up so we non-stat fans can get to know them and get excited again. I did not mention Buxton. I think it would be a fatal error to ticket sales to trade him this off-season but at next season's trade deadline they will need to trade him. Unless a miracle happens I think the will be gone. They may up what they offered before but they won't go as high as needed and cannot afford to wait until the 2022 off season and let him walk. Oh such a dilema, we waited so long for Berrios and Buxton the big stars and they added Cruz and Donaldson to make it even more exciting but sadly it did not happen and now Berrios is gone.
  22. Seems like we get the players we want/have been waiting for and so many posters love to post the negatives instead of enjoying the great players. Granted this is a small sample of fans but most fans love the presence of a great player and don’t care about numbers. They love seeing the amazing talent and the possibility of Berrios pitching a no-hitter or Buxton speeding around the bases or making a game winning catch. I think the Twins did themselves in with how they treated him with the service time issue. Also money is probably a huge factor but followed closely by by the possibility of contending most years. They are good enough to be wanted and signed by these types of teams. This has to have been the most exciting time of Berrios’ career. The best players want to have at least a shot of going to the WS or far in the playoffs. This most likely isn’t going to happen during Buxton’s best years.
  23. He is the only one left to watch. I do like Sano and Polanco but the team is "eh" without Buxton. Seeing Berrios play in the biggest game of his life and what they did to Buxton delaying his free agency by a year was a huge mistake and pretty sure he won't let the door kick him in the a$$.
  24. I agree with what you say but I feel like many teams would want him. Won't have to give up much but who doesn't a power hitter?
