  1. So happy, Blue Jays was the free MLB game of the day. Got to see one of my all time favorite pitchers and a real MLB team. Sad that we can only dream of a team like the Blue Jays.
  2. Got it here. Looks like it is total revenue but I could be way off. • Minnesota Twins revenue 2021 | Statista
  3. I would disagree. We have one player in the top 100 salary wise. Correa at #7 and then all the way down to #105 overall and 35th counting just pitchers with Sonny Gray. I really think they need to pay for a top starter 1-2 and a top DH. Hopefully Correa will be here next year but if not they better make a big signing. I don't understand why MN is considered mid or small market. We have one team and fans most likely from 3-4 states. If they fielded a top team their ticket sales would increase. The other issue is most people not being able to watch them on TV. They receive 268,000,000 in TV Revenue why not spend most of that on payroll? Doesn't matter anyway they are not going to change.
  4. Not going to change and never will until we get owners who are willing to invest in a WS team.
  5. It is not a team. It is a mix match of players. I could be wrong but their is not a true closer or DH. Correa, Buxton and Polanco seem to be the only players in their “true” position. The rest seem to be randomly thrown into different positions. IMO total failure in building a roster.
  6. He is having a down year but would still be better than what we got. His ERA is high but he gets further into a game than any of our pitchers. I would WAY rather have him than what we got.
  7. Is Austin one of the great prospects we got for Berrios? How is the other one doing?
  8. LOL..headline a little misleading. Makes it sound like they are WS bound!
  9. Could it be Houston is better coaching and player development. I would give the Twins 1 star
  10. Keep Garlick in RF. Make them earn playing time! The Twins really don’t have a DH do they?
  11. Besides Kepler having IMO another bad year. He is non-existent to the fans. He doesn't seem to do interviews where he admits he is disappointed in his play. He could be a clubhouse leader but it doesn't seem like it. Hard to say what they should do. I would say bench him for the rest of the year and let some of the kids in the minors get a chance. Can he be dropped from the 40 man? How was Tim Beckham a #1 draft pick? How terribly sad! I saw a line-up this week with him DH'ing and batting 8th. To me that was a sign we are at the bottom of barrel. Is there anyone in AAA that should get a chance in place of Kepler or Beckham?
  12. Not saying he doesn't try or is not working hard. If there is nothing that can be done we are in trouble. Just saying that something is not working. Comparing gymnastics to baseball is a little far-fetched but if you know anything about gymnastics it is not easy on the body especially at the high levels. Most have abs of steel! My granddaughter is at a high level and the things she does is incredibly hard on the knees, wrists, hips, ankles and especially the back and having a strong core helps to prevent injuries that would put them on the IL so to say. Her gym has a great conditioning program and unless they break a bone or get a concussion there are not many that need to take time off. Overall the Twins have a great deal of injuries so is it the training staff?
  13. They need to come up with a good conditioning plan for him. Surgeries are one thing but conditioning is huge when trying to prevent injuries. I know totally different sport but but gymnastics is a sport where all parts of the body can take a good pounding everyday. They practice 20 hours a week but at least 5 hours of that is pure conditioning. Good core strength is the key.
  14. Stats and numbers seem to make this one of the weakest lineups to date. Buxton leaving is more than disappointing, especially with Houston coming up.
  15. SWR is not here and has proved nothing. It has been over a year and we have nothing to show for the Berrios trade! Berrios has had some clunkers and gems. He does give his team a good 7 innings for the most part. He has given the Blue Jays 128 innings. Twins closest player is Joe Ryan at 107 and Dylan Bundy at 103. The rest are all under 100. The Blue Jays believe in him and he has acknowledged his clunkers each time and works really hard to improve.
  16. It is a combination of failures. I know all teams have injuries but the medical staff of the Twins has to be at the bottom. How on earth did they think Mahle was healthy? Far too many.
  17. When do heads start to roll? I don’t think we have really won or come out on top with trades made? It doesn’t seem like player development is even good. The few players that have made it as MLB quality are few and far between. Keeping players healthy has been horrible. Questionable day to day lineup’s and pitching management not even average. Kepler should be DFA’d or at the very least benched instead he often hits in prime spots. Not even sure how to categorize the lack of getting the team to even appear that they want to win. A few really put their hearts in the game. We are now 2-3 years past being the competitive team we were supposed to have. It doesn’t seem like they are rebuilding. Basically if most of us were this incompetent we would have been fired a long time ago.
  18. Greedy MLB, owners, satellite companies and to some extent players. They have made it so you cannot get to really know your hometown team. Many can't afford to attend a game and if you can why spend it on a team you barely know! I think maybe 5 games have been televised this year on "free" TV. Owners: There are some teams that invest and I would not put them on the greedy list. I would put the Twins on the greedy list. This has to affect ticket sales that trickles down to less revenue on food and apparel, parking, downtown business revenue, etc. MLB: They can now charge us for apps so we can hear a game while we watch the fake players on Gameday. But again this has to affect their overall revenue. It is not much but I will not renew it again next year. Especially if they can't come to an agreement with Bally's. Even the few "free" games are blacked out, Satellite Companies: When Bally's first dropped, their reasoning was to save us money. Well Bally's left and we did not see a reduction in price. So DiSH isn't paying Bally's and pocketing that money. Players: IMO their salaries are ridiculous. $700,000 a year to play a game with 5-6 month's off each year. 10 of the top paid players are pitchers and IF they stay healthy they will pitch may 35 games and throw about 3,000 pitches per year. Twins pitcher's far less. Max Scherzer, who will make more than $43 million. Mike Trout is second, at more than $37 million Anthony Rendon, third at more than $36.5 million The New York Yankees' Gerrit Cole and the Mets' Jacob deGrom round out the five highest paid players for 2022. They each will make $36 million. Our own Correa at $35.1 Pitchers who average 33-35 games a year: Of the 28 highest paid players in baseball this season, 10 are pitchers, who also make up five of the 10 highest paid players in baseball. For a game deemed to be America's past time it is overall ridiculous!
  19. I don't think anyone would pick him up if we just let him go. Did Duffey get picked up yet? Right field? Isn't that usually for good hitters and okay defense?
  20. He always manages to stay out of the dog house and rarely mentioned in negative posts. Seems to me he is another player that should be paid out and let go. There must be prospects that could hit as well or better and meanwhile get MLB experience. Even though all is not lost yet, Kepler isn't adding to the "race".
  21. I know it isn’t just him and it was not easy to even think that for sure. Didn’t think about the no trade clause. I love watching him in CF and his base running. His injury proneness is really holding him back in the things I loved to see. Enjoying his home runs for sure.
