  1. It’s May, think we will see Buxton in CF soon? Can’t wait!!
  2. Sad for Majeda and Mahle. Not sure we got the best in either trade. Mostly lack of games played.
  3. Just looking at batting averages. 4 guys last night under.200
  4. I would love a stable regular lineup and fielding. Seriously if they didn’t have their names on their backs I would not know who is who. When I get notifications on my phone at times I don’t even know if the player is a Twin or not.
  5. Or just let him play and whatever happens so be it. Another couple years like this will be depressing for fans and Buxton too.
  6. I would compare the “Buxton Situation” closer to what the Twins experienced with Mauer. For us non-stat fans the excitement or expectations of having a superstar seem to be fading.
  7. So far so AWESOME. So sad to lose Arrazz with a proven track record which could someday be greatness! I am glad the Twins seem to be realizing they need to pay for pitching instead of counting on their prospects. I need to try not to get too excited yet to avoid huge disappointment later.
  8. Not disagreeing but aren't these early games just as important? Shouldn't we be fielding the best team all 162 games? I don't care really what he is getting paid. I want to watch him play. He is the most exciting player we have had in LONG time. I hate this modern baseball. It isn't a team anymore it is a bunch of stats and then pull the players off a merry-go-round based on those. Line-up should be consistent so us non-stat fans can get to know and love the team. I have said this many times. I wouldn't recognize but one or two Twins players if I was sitting at the same table with them. It isn't about players playing for the love of the game but making sure they make the most money. The owners care more about TV revenue than giving us the ability to watch the games.
  9. SO FRUSTRATING!!! How can it be justified? So what he stays healthy for the end of the season? While opportunities are lost at the beginning? Kind of a waste of the DH role? He was supposed to be paid for his CF and speed. He is a decent hitter but it seems now he can't steal? Needing an extra day off every week? If I could only do 1/3 of my job and needed an extra day off, I probably wouldn't have my job long.
  10. Buxton was on a streak with the team. He was given a day off, the Twins lost and seems now Buxton is cooling off. Positives are Larnach and Castro. Scary start Solano, Gallow, Taylor. Super scary Miranda and Farmer. Not sure what to say about Correa I guess you could call it a slow start but we can't afford for him to not hit.
  11. I wouldn’t call the hitting great. A few are doing good but last time I looked more than half of the batting averages were low 200’s. Yes it is early.
  12. I could not believe Buxton needed a day off already. 4 games as a DH and he already needed a rest day. He was hitting very good. I don’t think a player should be pulled when on a streak.
  13. That was fun. Just curious based on another comment I posted. Do you see any of theses qualities in Kepler?
  14. I know it is only 1 game. If Kepler can’t average above .250 what should they do? I am np expert but I thought right field was typically a power hitter position. I have read his defense is above average, but how many runs does he save in a season? Worth a spot in the line-up if his hitting doesn’t improve. There has to be something behind the scenes making it worth it. He is very likable but not a real exciting personality.
  15. Seems too early to decide. His average after one game is .000. Hopefully it is one of biggest surprise this season!
  16. Traditionally isn't first base a power hitter?
  17. The Twins need a player with power like Cruz was at DH. Isn’t the premise of a DH to be able to come up to bat with players base and hit a home run? I think Byron has “okay” numbers to bat 1-3 but even that is iffy. Much of his value is to prevent opposing teams from scoring, right? I love Buxton and hope he can become what we all expect. But it is super frustrating almost painful to watch this year after year! Last time I looked he had a 1.25 BA with a handful of at bats.
  18. I guess I feel like this is what we get year after year after year and we watch and wait and wait. In just recent memory we got Polanco, a few years of Berrios and some but not enough from Buxton. So excited for Lewis but not sure what will happen there. Is there a top prospect I am forgetting about that is here and not often injured?
  19. Because the article is about prospects. If you don’t like a reply just move on. Don’t let it ruin your day.
  20. Shouldn't they have seen the almost 2 years injury coming? Maeda: 2020 played in 11 games with a 2.70 ERA. 2021 played in 21 games (4.66 ERA). 2022 0 games, 2023 Spring Training played in 4 games (5.59 ERA) Graterol: 2020 played in 23 games with a 3.09 ERA. 2021 played in 34 games (4.59 ERA) and 2022 played in 46 games (3.26 ERA). Spring Training 2023 6 games (0.00 ERA) Maeda: 32 games Graterol: 103 games
  21. It's all great to speculate on prospects but we rarely get them past prospect. If we do they are usually one eyelash away from a serious injury.
  22. Why would this be a discussion without discussing who they would get to replace him?
  23. Seems like we got the short end of the stick on this trade with LA.
