  1. Same old thing every year, fans start out with expectations (not high) but expectations. We watch players go off the table and then have to wait for the scraps. I 100% knew Correa would not stay as I am sure the front office did so they could say or at least put on the appearance of trying.
  2. Looked at Spotrac.com. Twins are 21st in salary but just as bad is they only have 5 veteran players. Of those only 3 position/every day players. Buxton is one and really can’t be counted on to be in the FIELD everyday. Kepler who doesn’t seem like a leader. Last vet is Polanco probably the best bet for some veteran leadership. One thing that is huge to me is lack of a power hitting DH.
  3. I don't think there are any MLB upper-level players that would consider coming here. When they are at that status playing for a contender is important and that is nowhere on the horizon for the Twins.
  4. My biggest frustration is they did not go out for other top players while waiting on Correa. They should have taken a chance on getting a big name + Correa. Biggest problem is I do not think ANYONE wants to play for the Twins. There is the money but just as important is a long playoff run and more exciting if it ended up in a WS win. I hope I am wrong but with the team now if everyone gets healthy still won't get us far. It is hard to stop being a fan for sure but kind of wish I could
  5. The problem with the young solid core is that once they have value, we traded them away for more prosects. Been that way for as long as I can remember. Buxton is the only value player that came from the Twins system that is of great value and still here. Seems like Polanco is halfway out the door as well. Missing E Escobar, E Rosario, Hicks, imagine if we kept Ramos,
  6. I don’t like trading with the Yankees, they know what they are doing. The Twins not so much. Hicks for Murphy.
  7. Sadly, they aren't even good at developing 1st round picks.
  8. Woo hoo! Another boring trade. I feel like we are on the outside looking in and when Correa goes elsewhere they will say we tried.
  9. 1,000,000% agree. Went to a game vs Houston, spent about $300 so excited to see Correa even bought my grandson a Correa jersey and HE DID NOT PLAY! Absolutely no consistent line-up for the last few years. That and no Bally’s on DishTv makes it hard to get to know and love your team.
  10. I spent about $300 to attend one game. I bought a Correa jersey for my grandson. I do not have the ability to watch on TV. If there were a streaming package to purchase, I would do that. They need to invest get the things you mention. We need to have a stable line and stop trading the good players. Imagine what it would be like if they were able to send out Cruz, Donaldson, Correa and Buxton every game and look forward to the day Berrio's pitches. I remember the days when we got to know and love the team by seeing the same players for most of the season. Watching them now is very much like watching the visiting team.
  11. Being competitive in the ALC doesn't get them very far into the playoffs. They are always one and done and that is what I consider complete failure.
  12. Even if the rankings were higher the training staff and coaching never seems to develop. I think they leave them in the minors too long and if we do get a player they are likely to be traded away.
  13. If I remember right people were in an uproar. It is now worse because of Bally's. No reason they can't strike a deal with a local station to give all Minnesotan's the ability to watch the Twins. I think it is important that the fans can get to know their team.
  14. I hate that we are always looking at the "left-overs" or hope and pray (old or injury prone) types of players.
  15. So sad we can't even have hopes. I totally disagree we are small market and if we are it is only because they do not field a competitive team.
  16. Right there with you. They need to get over sticker shock and just do it. If they don't start spending, they are losing revenue in so many other places. It is like a chicken/egg situation!
  17. They always say they are in, and they will NEVER spend to get an Ace. Same old, same old every year. Players are rolling off the board. From the MLB site, what does this mean? Few glaring needs and we don't have the foundation? "But given the depth of the existing roster, which currently has few glaring needs outside of a timeshare catcher, the time for a splash could indeed be now." We wouldn't be having this conversation if I didn't feel the foundation wasn't there, Falvey said. “That would be, in my estimation, probably a little unwise to push when you don't have the foundation. So, I couldn't recommend that to ownership as the right path."
  18. Already gone. The Astros have more depth and money if he doesn't work out. But going to a team like that he will probably perform better. They don't accept anything but the best. Don't think the Twins can work like that since they have no PROVEN depth at all.
  19. Typical Twin's signing. Hope he can find the magic again and if nothing else he could be a team leader. GRRRR from me.
  20. Perfect fit because he is cheap. Another hope and player. PASS
  21. Prospects, prospects, prospects. Why not MLB ready players.
  22. Well put. That is at a minimum a start.
  23. Not negative at all. It is Twins reality. We got Correa for one crappy season. Nelson Cruz and Donaldson were also short lived. They get a decent to good player but never great and the good ones are just to sell some tickets for the upcoming season, never long term!
  24. Waste of brain cells. We never go in for a really good player. Twins are yet to be part of any of the Trade Rumors on MLB.com We will wait until the dumpster is full and sift through that.
  25. Most are so inexpensive but definitely would let them all go but Urshela and Arraez. IMO the rest are hope and prayer players, been there done that!
