  1. Did the Twins get the short end of the stick in the Rogers/Rooker for Paddack/Pagen trade? Paddack is out and Pagen not so good? Rooker is having a good spring training and seems that Rogers is decent and will play
  2. I am worried. Probably too many years of constant waiting. Glass half empty, they are not going to announce anything the last possible minute, so it doesn't have an effect on ticket sales. I don't trust the front office or Pohlad's all that much. I think it was last year there was a shortened spring training and all kinds of excuses were blamed on that. I really hope he is okay and ready for Game 1 of the season and that he plays most of the year in CF.
  3. I know it has been a couple of years, but I am still angry about letting Berrios go. We knew he didn't want to stay and last year wasn't his best, although he did pitch a good number of innings. They did not want him to just walk away so they decided to trade (makes sense). BUT did they get anything for him. Starting to look like a bust. Austin Martin already on the 60 day and SWR hasn't had a good start in spring training. I know the spring training is not really something you can base much on but SWR has a 9.00 ERA so far. It is only 3 innings but still!
  4. I guess all I see is the inability of the training staff to bring this talent to the MLB level. The most recent best players that have played any significant time is Buxton and Berrios. I wonder if a different team could manage Buxton's injuries better. Berrios is what we needed and obviously did not want to be here. Will the 2 players we got for him ever emerge?
  5. MLB had a list of non pitchers already in camp. No mention of Buxton. Do you think they will wait until the last possible minute to tell us when or if he will be healthy?
  6. You still list Arraez. Sadly, that is one of the higher paid players (and deservedly so) that used to be here.
  7. If a player is injured for an extended period of time do they or can they collect insurance on the salary? Any details would be appreciated on how that work. I am going to guess they will collect on Buxton and maybe Correa. The reason I think that is there has not been a peep on Buxton's health and Correa's supposedly bad ankle.
  8. I was thinking more about how it would affect ticket sales and they are keeping his health status quiet for now. Who knows!
  9. I just haven't read anything about Buxton so wondering if will be ready for Spring Training or not.
  10. Has anyone heard anything about Buxton? Is going to be ready for 2023?
  11. Again, I wish the Twins would have an everyday DH. But the only every-day players as of today is Kepler and even, he may be "iffy" due to injuries, Correa at SS and Polanco at 2nd. Everyone else does not have a solid position except Buxton and we have no idea if he will be back or how he is doing. Has anyone heard anything? Spring training is only a month away and I have not seen much on injured players ready to return.'
  12. I would love a designated DH. I loved Cruz as that option. To me a DH is a position where you have a good chance of seeing a homerun. Not just putting any player out there.
  13. Seems the Twins are in hope and pray with the starters. Many haven't played an entire season in 3 years. If it changes GREAT but if not, then what? Lopez looks like he may have been in the bullpen but his ERA over his career is 5.45? Pitcher 2020 2021 2022 Avg Gray 11 26 24 20 Maeda 11 21 0 11 Ober 20 11 16 Mahle 10 33 23 22 Ryan 11 26 24 20 Lopez 10 Bull Pen? Bull Pen?
  14. What quality starter is left and who will come to a non-contending team?
  15. Which starter do you think they could get for Arraez?
  16. I for sure wouldn't call him a bad pitcher. He is at least average with a potential to be great. One bad season compared to his other seasons???
  17. Not wanting to stay on the team is correct. A player like him wants to go to a contending team. As for SWR he played in one game and 5 innings and gave up 2 runs. I have seen many times where a pitcher starts out well but then the batters figure him out and it can go downhill. I hope more than anything his projection are accurate. We have learned the hard way that projected doesn't always work.
  18. My point is we have not seen the players we traded a pretty good pitcher for so far nothing. Yes, he didn't have his best year but was 12-7 and gave the team 172 innings to help saving their bullpen innings! You can say it is looking quite good, but we have no idea. I also believe Berrios will improve. He is hardworking and competitive.
  19. I get your idea, but the Twins are always letting a good and popular players go for "young, controllable pitching" that never seems to happen. We traded Berrios away for two players we have yet to see.
  20. Let Kepler go and get him out there to see what he has. If he has it great if not let him go.
  21. I will never understand. We wait and wait for prospects to be ready only to trade (sometimes give them away on a bad trade) and then we are back to looking for that star player. Once they start to show that they could or will be a top player off they go. Twins always looking for something better? We had Berrios and traded him 2 seasons ago for players we have not seen yet. Makes no sense!!! We get a good player like Arraez and looking to get rid of him for another handful of prospects and the wait starts over. With Correa, they got lucky he didn't stay with San Fran or the Mets or are we lucky? Is he going to be on the IL for a better part of the season? Another fan favorite was Cruz? Yes, he is getting older but the players we hold on to are not much better. His stats may be down, but he was good in the clubhouse and good for the fans. Then we hang on to players like Kepler? I am a fan that wants a good stable team. A team we can get to know and love and Arraez fits. He is a fun player to watch and the AL batting champ?
  22. I would do it. I just don't think he is done. Maybe with Correa, the newer bench coach and medical staff they can bring him around and if he can do what we thought, we need him!
  23. Kind of like Dozier but they ran him out everyday. Kepler hasn't been the same for at least two years.
