  1. I thought Gray cruising. Is 91 pitches really a reason to pull someone with 9 strikeouts in 5 innings?
  2. I would like to see a stable lineup. Let them start to jell and see what happens. Knowing you will be in the daily lineup or ever in majors could take off pressure to perform. Also would get the fans a team to get to know. I don't think the back and forth to the minors really helps. For some of the guys it is time to be able play a the ML level or be gone. A superstar like Correa shouldn't crack under the pressure of batting in the superstar prime position. He it too good for that.
  3. I get that pitching is very important. I just hate we had to give up a very good hitter. I want both!
  4. I read an article in the Star Tribune. Hopefully I am misunderstanding, if not I am SERIOUSLY done. Correa seems to be trying to talk Buxton into just being a DH. I don't care about stats! I want the excitement of seeing him in the OF and running bases at 100 miles an hour. Last year we had a bit of excitement with Arraez and Correa. Why can't we have it all. We had to give up Arraez to get Lopez (want both). I miss Berrios, he was so fun to watch pitch. Now we have a lackluster lineup and better pitching. I would rather of 6 days of Arraez than a couple days a week for Lopez. But the Twins should be able to give us both. If Buxton is our full-time DH I officially give up on the Twins ever fielding a great consistent lineup. Just another HUGE disappointment!
  5. Is it negative to never expect this team to be contenders? I want to be optimistic but it is not easy.
  6. Still 3 innings to but YIKES!!!!
  7. I agree that they are in a good spot for the AL central and you can’t win every game and mistakes happen. But it is not early anymore. I think negativity comes because it seems like more often than not in late September the team always find themselves in the “need to win ## games to make the playoffs. The 1 game playoff never goes their way. That is what is frustrating about the giveaway games where they don’t play their best players. Glad to see Buxton not getting rest days mostly because he is DH and that shouldn’t require rest days. If I could have a wish, it would be to have a regular stable lineup.
  8. Centerfield probable's: Byron Buxton?
  9. It’s May, think we will see Buxton in CF soon? Can’t wait!!
  10. I hope they keep Varland up. First for experience and give him a chance to build up some confidence.
  11. Thought the post was about Maeda and did not mention other posters
  12. Sad for Majeda and Mahle. Not sure we got the best in either trade. Mostly lack of games played.
  13. Makes no sense to me. A win is the same in April is the same as a win in September. Especially for this team.
  14. IMO, Buxton doesn’t need days off while DHing. He was so pumped up after yesterday’s game. Keep them going is the way most players get on a streak. Could he really be exhausted or out for the season if he didn’t get an extra day off?
  15. Just looking at batting averages. 4 guys last night under.200
  16. That sounds reasonable. It feels like the Twins keep players especially pitchers in the minors too long and when they get here they are a bit worn down and soon to be on the IL.
  17. Time to get him out there and see if he can really pitch. For some of our players it is time to sink or swim. Kepler and Gordon have both sank, time to start cutting the losses and get on with the future. They can’t keep going on like this.
  18. I would love a stable regular lineup and fielding. Seriously if they didn’t have their names on their backs I would not know who is who. When I get notifications on my phone at times I don’t even know if the player is a Twin or not.
  19. Or just let him play and whatever happens so be it. Another couple years like this will be depressing for fans and Buxton too.
  20. I would compare the “Buxton Situation” closer to what the Twins experienced with Mauer. For us non-stat fans the excitement or expectations of having a superstar seem to be fading.
  21. So far so AWESOME. So sad to lose Arrazz with a proven track record which could someday be greatness! I am glad the Twins seem to be realizing they need to pay for pitching instead of counting on their prospects. I need to try not to get too excited yet to avoid huge disappointment later.
  22. Not disagreeing but aren't these early games just as important? Shouldn't we be fielding the best team all 162 games? I don't care really what he is getting paid. I want to watch him play. He is the most exciting player we have had in LONG time. I hate this modern baseball. It isn't a team anymore it is a bunch of stats and then pull the players off a merry-go-round based on those. Line-up should be consistent so us non-stat fans can get to know and love the team. I have said this many times. I wouldn't recognize but one or two Twins players if I was sitting at the same table with them. It isn't about players playing for the love of the game but making sure they make the most money. The owners care more about TV revenue than giving us the ability to watch the games.
