  1. There should be a law that all Sunday games are televised locally
  2. Hope not! He hasn’t been off his last IL stint very long.
  3. Fairly to extremely confident in Duran. Cross your fingers
  4. If Ober doesn’t get the win, shame on the entire lineup. Still far to many strikeouts!
  5. To be fair we don’t know how much or how they train. From the outside it seems something needs to change or be implemented. Lewis and Buxton are fairly young. Seems Lewis might be Buxton v2 I remember Berrios having a tough offseason regime and it must be working as I do not think he has ever been on the IL
  6. If Lewis goes on the IL they need to let the head trainer go. I know baseball can be a rough game but IMO, they need a new conditioning plan. You probably roll your eyes but gymnastics is as tough or tougher on the bodies as baseball. One reason they are so strong is the amount of time they condition. They spend as much time conditioning as they do learning new skills. Mine are at a higher level and spend a great deal of time on core conditioning and flexibility
  7. Taking yesterday as a new beginning. From Rocco finally realizing change is needed and the pre-game interviews with the star players acknowledging the same and then go out and have a killer game brought a ray of hope
  8. Totally a farce! But very often they use terms like 3 time Allstar….
  9. I thought pitchers were selected differently or at least one position player had to be selected.
  10. When will the rest of the All Star teams be announced? Not many Twins deserve to go and they should be embarrassed to go. I would guess Lewis, but has he played enough games?
  11. Besides all the numbers (win/loss, strikeouts, etc.), there is little to no one that leads this team by example or mentoring some of the players coming up. You can find fault with all of the below players but you cannot replace the players below Rosario, Escobar, Arraez, Cruz, Astudillo and Berrios who played with such enthusiasm and love of the game. Great memories with no players to replace these Sano: It was awesome with RISP and have him come to the plate and knock one out Buxton: Watching him when he got on base when he could run from 1st to home in seconds was so amazing AND fun! Buxton: Making the highlight plays in CF Cruz: Watching him mentoring others, especially Buxton. Many players beelined right to Cruz after an at-bat for advice or feedback IMO we have let players go that were FUN to watch, When the fans are excited I think it rubs off and effects the game. The Atlanta team is a true example of this and the domino effect it creates. Seems we have 9 position players and not a one of them brings excitement for the fans. Instead having the 1-5 players getting on base and getting RBI's all we can is hope they don't strikeout. We have a glimmer of hope with Lewis now,
  12. I think he could greatly improved with a good leader or mentor but we are missing that too,
  13. Both Kirilloff and Lewis and other "newcomers" need a good mentor too. Cruz was a great mentor for Buxton and it showed then and is showing now without a true mentor or leader at all
  14. He has to play to win and not give random days off especially when playing teams like Atlanta. Some of their "top" hitters sat during this series. The theory about preserving them for September/October is not going to mean much if they are out of the play-offs. They have today off and maybe "rest" them during the KC series. I don't think resting them is what they need especially if they are hot,
  15. He is more than hurt IMO. He got back spasms just from swinging, I don't know enough to see if his swing has changed or if he is trying to avoid pain when swinging. Sad to see him called out at home and by a mile. I continue to point out he needs to do something to preserve or protect his body not just for baseball but for the rest of his life. Money won't be worth the long term effects of trying to play I would say with injuries but I would say in general he should not play baseball.
  16. Looks like the Giants and Mets knew CC is hurt much more than the Twins did. They got so caught up in getting him signed that they obviously missed something. I agree Buxton is as good as he will ever get. Not sure if he would consider medically retiring or how that would work. He needs to seriously take his long term health into consideration. All the money in the world is not worth the long term affects of playing injured, especially if he is doing long term injuries to his back.
  17. I actually got to watch a live game and one thing I think I noticed is they have trouble with battling pitches. There is a baseball term for this but the at bats are quick and they can’t work a count to force the opposing pitcher to throw many more pitches. I hop that makes sense and remember I don’t get to watch many games thanks to Bally. Any updates on Bally’s nd the Twins?
  18. Given the talent on the Braves team I am not that disappointed. One thing that should stand out to the Twins players is how Atlanta is as a group and having fun. It also points out how contagious hitting can be. We just do not have the players to get a rally going or they are not at an appropriate place in the line-up. They must be so deflated with no leadership to pull them up. We hear about players that are signed partially for their leadership and mentoring. I think we should have kept several players that may not be the best but are great at keeping the team at least alive looking. Arraez, Rosario, Sano, the Turtle and Escobar did have that love of the game that trickled down to others and entertained the fans. Win or lose fans like to see a team like Atlanta even if they don't win.
  19. You do not need to be so condescending by starting off assuming I do not realize! I do realize that and it is exactly why I think he is really not going to get much better. I have many years of parenting a high level competitive gymnast. She has had knee issues that led to her hip getting out of alignment because she was over compensating. Luckily so far her back has not been injured. Once the back injuries flare up it is an area for concern, Many gymnast are forced to retired because of back injuries that can lead to a lifetime of pain. I do know that his ailments appear to be getting worse. Having back spasms just by swinging a bat or running is a big deal. Just saying after all these years he is not getting better and seems worse this year than any other.
  20. I watched the game and watching Alcuna made me think of and really miss the old Buxton. The excitement of seeing Rosario and the 3 outfielders jumpin up after a win. Our guys have almost 0 excitement or passion for the game. So very sad!
  21. He is the only writer looking at the flaws in this team. While he can come off like an ass, he isn't that far off.
  22. He seems to have a mental block they need to work on or just let him go
  23. I get it but he should be playing against the tougher teams. They have a day off this week and play KC next week. Resting against one of the best teams doesn’t seem logical unless he is hurting.
  24. They have mentioned hip, knees and then he goes out with back spasms. Not sure he can ever recover.
