  1. It sounds like his knee is not going to get better so what to do? Constantly putting on the IL doesn't work and he is really taking a key position in the line-up given his production. IMO they are at the point where they need to put him back in CF one more time and if can't do it, it is time for him to retire. He is the face of the franchise but he will end up being a big disappointment if this continues. This is worse than the Joe Mauer story.
  2. Obviously the medical staff in SF and NY saw things the medical staff that the Twins did not. That money should have been spent on a #1/2 starter and the Twins would have an all star that would easily been the face of the franchise and leader this team is lacking. They wanted a “big name” but certainly not a leader for the LVP. It is nice for those who keep saying he will turn it around.
  3. I think his body is worn out and he should medically retire. I think this terrifies both the Pohlad's and FO as they do not want to see the face of the franchise go. Just looking at it he is hurting himself and the team as the FT DH (it hurts to say that).
  4. Got it, thanks. I guess my thinking is desperate times need desperate measures. Maybe sending the whole line up to the AAA level would shake up this under achieving line-up.
  5. Can’t wait to hear Rocco’s post game interview
  6. Yikes!! A tiny sliver of hope after the closed door meeting only to get even worse when that didn’t seem possible. 0-6 with RISP to go with 11 strikeouts. Our hitters don’t have the ability to work a count. The hitters RARELY give the pitchers a few run lead to work with. Hick 3-run HR brought back memories of one of the worst trades EVER basically gave Hicks away. I think they had to make room for Buxton but they could have moved Hicks to RF and given up Kepler. Obviously they don’t get it, was JR Murphy really good and tanked right away with the Twins. Better not lay the blame for this pathetic game just on the pitching. Without them we would be WAY under .500, maybe in the .300’s. Finally this is turning out to be just like last year lead the ALC for the first half and then let Cleveland or possibly Detroit take it from here. Should Rocco be let go after getting swept at home. I think any manager should be!
  7. He is a sorely missing part of the team.
  8. No idea what ABS is but still stand by my opinion to get some of these guys up. I also think the Saints could win. Maybe that would light a fire on our pathetic hitting line-up!
  9. No doubt the Twins could use these games to figure out what is wrong with the hitting. We eventually need to see what we have with SWR, Austin Martin, Wallner and others or let them go. We keep wondering what Wallner can do, what we got for Berrios and a few others who should be MLB ready by now.
  10. It would be interesting to see a couple Twins vs Saints games. We could see some of the players IMO the FO are holding off. It should be easy to set up since they are so close together. A couple this week would be good. They do need time off but they need to try something NOW to get the AAA team MLB experience. The lineup needs change or they will be cleaning their locker rooms out on October 1st. See SWR and maybe Kuechel pitch. The Twins could use the batting practice for sure.
  11. Why do you think he did not get named to the ASG?
  12. Love to see the pitching staff who give the team a great chance for a win
  13. I can see where it could be considered "even". Lopez also has the chance to dip here in MN. I have 2 points. First, a pitcher appears in 30ish games where Arraez is well over 100. 2nd is nothing against Lopez but disappointment that the Twins won't spend on great pitching (compliment to Lopez).
  14. So far Buxton is winning by 100 miles
  15. Seemed like when we gave him to Miami lot's of talk about he couldn't repeat or was a flash in the pan hitter or just a singles hitter, etc. His overall career numbers rank with the best starting in 2019 with a BA of .334, Lowest of his career was a .294 in 2021, The Twins don't have anyone even close! He has played in over 120 games for the last 2 years and so far 83 this year. He had a few 10 day IL stints but has been healthy the last 3 years. Although you can't put a number of his personality of love of the game and how he could motivate the Twins this year should be close to 1.000,
  16. Berrios has stayed injury free. I believe that they do not do enough to strengthen their core. I mean an oblique injury just from running? Maybe it happened in the swing but they need to be in top physical shape. Not only during the season but in the offseason as well. Berrios has an offseason trading program that seems to be working.
  17. What happened to most of the line-up? Too many strike-outs, too many slumps, too many injuries?
  18. His numbers are not a bad as some on the Twins roster. Realize he may not be the best but better than some we have. I really think he could help our younger players now. But that is my opinion.
  19. I think they should grab Nelson Cruz. His numbers aren't terrible, He is the clubhouse leader we need and he could DH on Buxton's day or or next IL stint. Maybe swap him in RF for Kepler?
  20. I would say no only because Levine/Falvey have not made good trades or signings. I think it shows in only having 1 pitcher and no position players chosen for the ASG. I think they cannot see what San Fran and NY saw that made them decide to sign Correa. It seems SF and NY made a wise decision. Mostly I think he does have injuries that SF/NY saw and they are holding him back. They had to sign Buxton or Twins fans would have went crazy but it is now pretty apparent that his injuries are not going to get better probably not going to ever play CF again and he had back spasms from running to 1st. I would have serious thoughts of getting or forcing him to medically retire (that is terribly sad for sure). Keeping Wallner down and playing Kepler is another head scratcher and tells me that they do not know what they are doing. Are they going to keep Wallner down so long that he will start having injuries? If ever they should have spent would have been last season on a #1 or 2 starter and not trading away Arraez.
  21. I loved actually hearing what Rocco, Correa, Buxton and one other players said in the pre-game interviews before the 8-1 win. It was great to think they had turned things around but deep down I knew not to get too excited and after the 8-1 win IMO they crashed right back down. I don't see many changes but the line-up has never stayed stable with Rocco. I didn't notice any big adjustments.
  22. Pretty good report card for Levine and company. Not a single position player All Star. I know the voting is skewed but not the players named. I would say that is a D or F.
  23. I get to watch maybe 10 games a year. Dropped Dish this year and went to YouTube. Way cheaper
