In one bracket, he'll go up against Paul Charchian and in another, he'll go against the NBA's Bruce Bowen. Vote for Bonnes!! Here are all of the 2013 Preposterous Statement nominees. http://content.clearchannel.com/cc-common/mlib/612/02/612_1392235865.pdf
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Wow, this is a special honor John, thrice over. I wish you and yours the best of luck, you will need it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 3 of them on the list. He's got a shot with the "Top Heavy Rotation" bit. However Charch is a tough draw!!!
snepp Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Paul Allen could easily take 5 of the final 8 spots.
ashbury Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 That's for the time being. If Bonnes wins, then he'll just be posterous!
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 PA gets props for quantity, but Gorg's "We'd rather be scoreless than up 2-0" has got to be the Vegas favorite, IMO.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Paul Allen could easily take 5 of the final 8 spots. They should really just do a tournament for him. For every show. They could easily fill a daily bracket for him, it's almost not fair.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Where do you see these quotes? Sorry Bonnes, but I'll be mashing my F5 for you on this one!
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 They should really just do a tournament for him. For every show. They could easily fill a daily bracket for him, it's almost not fair. If it was a UFC match, they'd stop the fight the moment PA entered the ring- in the interest of public safety from the preponderance of preposterous.
snepp Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The 2nd link in Seth's post is a pdf with the quotes.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Jim Souhan is severely under-represented, comparing Miguel Sano to Miguel Cabrera has to be one of his least preposterous quotes.
old nurse Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Good luck to John. I am sure some brave soul will listen to Common enough to post when and where to vote.
Ben B Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 DickNBert seem under-represented here too.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 This might be one of my favorites (but you have my full support John): 33) Ken Rosenthal: tweeted "Young (Delmon) coming off microfracture surgery on right ankle, #Phillies think he may be able to regain mobility in OF"
oldguy10 Provisional Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 That is really funny from Rosenthal. Delmon never had mobility in the first place, at least I never witnessed it, did any other posters?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 PA gets props for quantity, but Gorg's "We'd rather be scoreless than up 2-0" has got to be the Vegas favorite, IMO. I'm a pretty big fan of another Gorgism. The one where if you have AP you really don't want a better QB than Ponder.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Kanye West for his comment about risking his life every time he performs should be the winner.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 28. "Mike Pelfrey: when discussing the American vs National leagues differences and the DH vs pitcher, he said "Sometimes the pitcher is the hardest guy to face". ......... and this is the guy that should be a mentor to the younger starters????
savvyspy Provisional Member Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 PA gets props for quantity, but Gorg's "We'd rather be scoreless than up 2-0" has got to be the Vegas favorite, IMO. I think a dark horse is Jerry Kill saying Richard Pitino has "Taken the hard road". D'Oh Kay!!
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Hate to say this, but, John's statement: John Bonnes: "The Twins will be a fun team to watch this spring." is totally the opposite of preposterus. The Twins are a fun team to watch each and every Spring. Especially in person at Fort Myers. This is a fact. The last 3 seasons might have not been fun to watch them in June/July/August/September (for some people), but John's statement is a fact in my book... Sorry.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Hate to say this, but, John's statement: is totally the opposite of preposterous. Common would find any positive statement preposterous. He is nothing if not predictable. I think he can be funny, but he is pretty lazy in that he has been doing the same shtick for years and after awhile you can predict what most of his reactions will be. He would do better if he did not have to fill three hours. However, I still have faith in John's ability to be preposterous.

Othercousin 324 Provisional Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I like Common but wish he would retire this bit. It comes across as forced and reaching . It can be just as presposterous to be overly negative as it is to be overly positive.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 The Twins rotation is "top heavy" Voting on it now http://www.kfan.com/onair/the-common-man-11896/vote-here-sport-clips-region-round-12099886/

It can be just as presposterous to be overly negative as it is to be overly positive. I love the PST. There's always a few that aren't as preposterous as Common suggests, mostly due to his unfamiliarity with some aspects of various sports. Still, most are quite rediculous, and sorry to say, but John's "top heavy" rotation statment is pretty funny.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 It can't be top heavy, the Twins missed out on Bartolo Colon.
Boom Boom Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Good luck to John, but Kevin Gorg is a juggernaut in this competition. I'm predicting a Gorg vs. Gorg in the final.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 PA gets props for quantity, but Gorg's "We'd rather be scoreless than up 2-0" has got to be the Vegas favorite, IMO. I shoulda went to Vegas and put my money where my mouth was. Gorg takes the championship.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Kanye West for his comment about risking his life every time he performs should be the winner.Lost handily to Gorg in the finals. No shame in that.
