Messick dominated him last night, so badly the team was forced to have him bunt with a runner on base... So what? You don't platoon guys you expect to be stars. mrmpls, ashbury and Parfigliano 3

No, but you can give him a day off against a tough, same handed pitcher. Detroit didn't start Clark against Messick last Saturday, CLE didn't start Genoa against Bradley last night. It's not a bad thing and shouldn't slow player development. Patzky 1

The strategy can't fail it can only be failed. It's like a USSR 5 year plan back in the day. Mike Sixel 1

MeleMouth Verified Member Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago Since July 1, Royce's wRC+ is 94. All those "Royce is back!" thoughts in June have dissipated. His hard hit rate during that time is 39.6, lower than his full-year, including his bad start. Maybe he's got another injury. We all know the talent is there, but . . .
mnfireman Verified Member Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago Caratini losing an ABS challenge means the hitters will be less likely to challenge (the pitch to Culpepper was well off the plate)... Patzky and Parfigliano 2

This team is filled with mediocre players. Lewis is one of them, at best. If every hitter but the rookies, Lee, and Keaschell were gone, that would work for me. Even Buxton, because you only get 100 games and you have to roster four legit OF, which is hard to do. Parfigliano 1

Why do we know the talent is there? It doesn't show in his O or D game. Stats show he's remarkably near average.

Looks like a RHP coming in for CLE, RP Franco Aleman.
