I know the saying is to not make the first or third out at 3rd base.  Anymore, the players are fast enough to score from 2nd base on a hit.  I'm not sure that any out at 3rd base is safe anymore.

So Luke got thrown out stealing twice that inning. Second time being totally unnecessary after the balk erased the first one. Must’ve been on his own. I can’t believe Shelton called for that.

I’d definitely be a conservative type manager. The payoff not worth the risk there. Especially with a struggling pitcher

Yes, Luke is definitely a guy who can provide offense. He is pretty young to put in a DH role and also does not project power usually identified with that position.

Where does he play will be a pretty important question to answer for the Twins.

Doesn't have the arm for OF or glove for IF. Tis a problem.

Non-game note.  Honestly didn't realize that Tommy John was still alive.  Read his statement he made to the Yankees today for Old-Timer's Day.  That man needs to be in the HOF.  His contribution to baseball is immeasurable, even if the numbers may not be quite there.

Isn’t it ironic that he needed Tommy John surgery?

Reminds me of earlier today when I watched a bit of a game from 2000 on YouTube. Eric Milton gave up like 6 hits to start a game vs the white sox at the dome.

both can be improved on - its up to him how bad he wants it ,  he also went thru Tommy John 2 years ago ,  pitchers come back stronger from it why cant he  ?

Yup, he will need some pretty big improvement. I think he can get there.

Reverend Kreidler would’ve stolen second there if it wasn’t for the fifth Commandment

IDK, many a pastor has been able to overlook that Commandment.  Televangelists seem to be about the worst.  Kreidler may have been able to ask for forgiveness there.

The numbers are there. He has the most wins of any non-HOF pitcher. Excluding those with the juicing stain he's the most egregious player left out. The surgery and comeback he went through revolutionized pitching injury recovery.

Luke ?  he also went thru Tommy John 2 years ago ,  pitchers come back stronger from it why cant he    wonder what type of re-hab they had him do compared to a pitcher ?  cause in college he had a stronger arm ,  would like to ask ?

I remember he gave up a leadoff homer to someone from the devil rays on opening night. 1999 I think

Still remember Sabato's best asset was 'light-tower power'.  I cringe every time I hear that because that usually means there are no other skills which that player possesses.

He hit a homer OUT of the stadium last Wednesday in St Paul.
