At the same time,  ownership, management, and the fans should take a look at the long term picture and make the decisions that are best in that view given whatever financial constraints exist.  Given the nature of our ownership (cheap), the best long term moves are to sell everything that isn't locked down and will not be part of that rebuild

Dude, this is at least the third time I've seen you post that the team should trade Buxton. What rock do you live under? He has said many, many times that he doesn't want to be traded and wants to retire a Twin (as recently as at the All-Star HR Derby). You can hate on him and management all you want, but he's not going anywhere. And as long as they are close to at least a WC berth, none of the others are either, the exception being Jeffers, but only if the offer for him is substantial.

You're right, but they did. Bitching about it now ain't going to change that. Hey, we did get some good prospects in return. I have an idea, why don't we trade some of these great prospects we have for good relievers with some controllable years left and reverse what we did last year? A lot people seem to love to hate last year so let's do the opposite this year. There's guys like that out there who are rumored to be available. Let's trade some of our prospects not named Jenkins or Culpepper for guys like Soriano, Detmer, or Sam Bachman of the Angels, Mason Miller, Bradgley Rodriguez, or Jhony Brito of the Padres, Luke Weaver of the Mets,  Daniel Lynch, Lucas Erceg, or Alex Lange of the Royals, Jeff Hoffman of the Blue Jays, Trevor Rogers or Shane Baz of the Orioles, or Hunter Greene or Nick Lodolo of the Reds. I'm sure there are more maybe even better guys that could be had for some of the talent we have in the minors. Let's do it.

So, I get your thinking but there probably needs to be a filter on the potential trade candidates from around MLB.

Mason Miller to the TWINS is not happening w/o the likes of Jenkins. Hunter Greene isn’t going anywhere…….. I live in Cincinnati and Lodollo has a blister issue, on the IL again to try & determine what to do…..he’s “not available”.

There are some guys it makes sense to pursue in your group! ….. I like innings eating Littell from Washington…… he’s starter/reliever & again, can throw innings.

This probably deserves to be said.....if the Twins were in the NL they'd be in 8th place in the WC and tied with the Nationals.  The Nationals.  Clear sellers.

We've got a buffet full of the world's worst foods and we're pretending the lutefisk is tasty because it isn't stinky tofu.  It's still lutefisk.  It's still not good.

Tom Pohlad is going to "try hard" his way into another dumb decision if he listens to the advice in this post.

Twins have some other prospects in top 100. The Padres may shift their plans by August 2 and so might the Twins. If the Padres are trying to reboot, they may listen to Tait, Rodriguez, Hill, Roden, and PTBNL.
