 LOL, for the last 5 years there have been complaints of the Twins not picking a catcher and the lack of organizational depth.  This year they pick 2. Obviously Lackey fell to us. In the second round we obviously saw value- he seems like a solid pick. Needs work on defense what he improved this year and some improvement on hit tool- but honestly his college numbers have been good.

I suspect that the evil plan for Carson Tinney is for him to become a tall first baseman with a great glove, and a bat that makes baseballs go very far.

That’s probably the backup plan. They’ll give him a chance at catcher with that arm. Catchers (that hit) are worth more…including in trades. But, we’ll see.

Last time the Twins picked a catcher from Georgia Tech in round 1, the stinker didn't sign!

Jason Varitek. 

Just think, it things had gone differently,, the Twins could have moved forward with Varitek and Ortiz, not Boston.
