Another team that is shocking right now is the St Louis Cardinals  , the organization is top notch , they have traded away veterans and reassembled their roster with younger players and in second place in NL central  ...

Yup. Something is definitely off somewhere in the organization. The White Sox were historically bad two years ago and here we are.

I think sometimes it comes down to organizational pride.  Teams like St Louis and Cleveland seem to always be in the conversation regardless of how much they gut and trade their team.  They are willing to stay the course and load up on proper drafting, developing, and coaching.  The players performing will typically take care of themselves if they are set up to win.
