With a relatively young team with a lot of prospects that are expected to play in the near future I'd say to look outside of the box. Find a seasoned college head coach who knows how to develop players, can relate to younger players, and focuses on fundamentals. College head coaches make the jump to the pro's all the time, except in baseball. This would be a good time to give it a try.

Do you value that more than the number of young players on the roster who have graduated from prospect status?

Depends on your strengths and skills. Our job just got more desirable because the Rangers filled their position. 😜

Ownership and the F.O. is lucky there are only 30 of these types of jobs.  If there were a 'normal' employer, I expect filling this job would be much more like real life and have trouble even finding applicants that would want to work for them?

Yeah but it’s not a regular job and in all reality if anyone could get this job as manager of the Twins there would be MILLIONS of applications submitted. Maybe you wouldn’t want it but imagine all the people that have played baseball between the age of 30-60 for instance. That’s millions of people who would love the opportunity.

My guess is the Twins will hire The manager of their Dominican summer league team as manager and a former cricket player from India as bench coach, in a bid to find an underutilized  resource that displays Joe Poulad's visionary leadership.

This team is in flux and is the FO going to blow up the roster even more before a manager is hired for input. And bringing Toby from St Paul is not a good idea. Looking at the prospects that have been brought up they all are showing to be weak in fundamentals. It seems like he is being told to ready the position players to play multiple positions, not working on the fundamentals. Looking at the list this job is just above the Rockies because of the roster issues being unknown.

"Payroll Limitations" are not a real thing.  The Twins owners have the same opportunities to spend just like any other team.  The greedy jerks CHOOSE to have a limited payroll.  Also, farm system ranking is meaningless.  No one has any idea how good these players will be once they get to The Show.

The amount of money spent on the payroll during the Rocco era was not the problem.  How it was spent was the problem.

Thank you. After they officially fired Washington, I saw that. Pujols will be a good manager. IMO, Pujols will also be in the STL running.

I like Hunter, but I also feel that Nelson Cruz may be great. I do not agree that hiring a manager who has been one in the past is the best option despite it being something they did with Baldelli. IN FACT, the last 4 managers the Twins had were 1st term managers. The owners need to create fan interest. Bringing back Hunter or Cruz would help fan indpirstion. Cruz speaks Spanish which would be a plus. At this point, nurturing young players on a team may be the most important issue for the manager. The owner and FO issues are outside of his parameters.

I'd rank the Twins last because of horrendous ownership. That was a category not listed at all. Who wants a job where the team payroll can change by leaps and bounds to which  the manager has no control over but will be held accountable for the ensuing failure sure to follow. Yes there are only thirty of these jobs but the Twins would easily rank last because of this one factor.

Anything is possible if you look outside the box , it's worth a look  ...

IMO, Molina has done the most to make STL a top contender during all those years of dominance. & could be the best candidate. However, what I've heard is that Pujols is at the top of the list of candidates.

What about the owner of the A's? He is a cheapskate and he moved the team.
