    If he had better baseball instincts I'd say keep him another year. However he makes so many bone headed plays I just don't think he can improve much.

    I can see a scenario where Emma starts the year with the Twins in LF and Jenkins is in St Paul due to a roster crunch, because Emma needs to play or be lost. I don't think Jenkins will be in St Paul long. He'll be back up just as soon as they figure out who stays and who goes.

    Is he talking about raising payroll because he thinks there is going to be a payroll floor in the future and he is just trying to spin it for the Pohlads benefit before it happens?

    I hope I'm wrong but Zoll's comment about baseball evolving leads me to believe the team will have 4 starters that go 4 innings and 4 relievers that can go 3-4 innings with the rest being 1-2 inning relievers.

    If that becomes true I wont care who makes their debut or when. Been an avid Twins fan for 60+ years and if this happens I'll be done. Billionaires fighting with millionaires makes me sick. If the players were fighting for the minor league and fringe players to get a better deal I wouldn't be turned off so much. But they seem to fighting for the stars. Same with the owners They already have more money than they can spend or even give away in a lifetime. But they want more. I know its a business, but its also entertainment, so its not a necessity, people have a choice. Baseball is dying a slow death, and players and owners both seem to be trying to grab the most they can before the well runs dry. I think affordability is a big part of the problem. I used to take my daughter and one of her friends up to a game 7-8 times a year and it wasn't a strain on finances. Now a trip like that would cost more than $300.00. I rarely make it up to a game more than once or twice a year. Didn't even go this year. First time in a long time. Sorry for the rant but I needed to get it off my chest.

    He has stated many times he hates being a DH. I didn't look it up but he seems to hit much better when playing the field. Put him in a corner for now and save some wear and tear on his hips.

    Disagree, For one thing the drop in velocity could be from the blister on his foot that never gets a chance to heal properly. Plus he has consistently shown the ability to go 6-7 innings with no drop off in velocity. Its way to early to give up on him. He has starters body, unlike Festa who runs out of gas after 3-4 innings and looks like a strong wind will blow him off the mound. Festa is the candidate for the pen.

    No chance Jeffers would accept a one year deal. The Yankees are desperate for a catcher and will give him a 4 year contract at something like 15 mil. /year.

    Just like most trades that involve minor league players, you can't really grade it for a few years.

    It pains me to say this but I see a 4-11 record in the next 15 games.

    Get Robbie Ray from the Giants, he's available and they are willing to pick up some his salary.

    Shut out by the two worst pitching staffs in the AL in the last week. I don't think there should a sell off like last year but some trades for the future need to be done. If its a trade that also helps this year great, but don't mortgage the future for this year.

    About the least of this teams worries. They can always pinch hit for Kreidler if the situation calls for it. Bring Culpepper up in couple weeks if they think he is ready, or pick up a good utility player if they think another player that can play shortstop is necessary.

    Yankee prospects are always over hyped. The actual good ones don't get included in trades. The ones that do get included are almost always underachievers.

    Agree for the most part. If they trade I hope its to a National league team. Just in case he rediscovers his lost hit tool. If he does I can see him making the Twins life he_ _ every chance he gets.

    I don't think the Twins brass are being conservative with top prospects. The reason its taking them longer to get there is they are all repeatably hurt. If Lackey takes care of business and stays healthy, he will be up late 27 early 28.

    How exactly have the twins aggressively challenged Tait. He was in A+ ball when acquired and the Twins placed him in A+ ball where he still is. He is doing worse overall this year, so far. Which tells me the Twins are probably screwing him up like they seem to do so often.

    He's still only 20 years old. Don't know if it still holds but the consensuses wisdom used to be that left handed pitchers generally take longer to develop.

    Is it a lack of talent or a lack of competent instruction? A lot of these guys were highly rated even by outside evaluators, but fall flat on their face when they get to the show.

    Keaschall can't make a throw from second to first without bouncing it in the dirt. I don't see how his arm can be hidden in the outfield. every hit to left field would be a double. I like him and think he will hit, but he needs to be a first basemen.

    For may of those years the Twins were the only team in the central really trying to compete. So winning a couple division titles was not a sign of success.

    Under Falvey pitching development was better. However position player development fell off a cliff.

    They've also proven you can't do it alone, which is why even a 99th percentile outcome for Jenkins (first-ballot Hall of Famer, like Mauer) would require others above him on this list to support the cause. Not to be picky but this statement makes no sense for someone ranked #1.
