So, Was the Falvey Era a Success?
Ricky Vaughn replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
For may of those years the Twins were the only team in the central really trying to compete. So winning a couple division titles was not a sign of success. -
Under Falvey pitching development was better. However position player development fell off a cliff.

They've also proven you can't do it alone, which is why even a 99th percentile outcome for Jenkins (first-ballot Hall of Famer, like Mauer) would require others above him on this list to support the cause. Not to be picky but this statement makes no sense for someone ranked #1.

Why the Twins Didn't Sign Luis Arraez
Ricky Vaughn replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not sure if signing him is a good idea or not. There's not really a place for him to play other than DH. But didn't he play with a bad thumb last year? That could explain a lot of his struggles in 25. -
I have nothing against Bell, hes ok if used properly. As long hes hitting in the bottom half of the line up and is the dh at least 1/2the time. My problem is after the trade deadline last year the message was we're going to get more athletic, faster, more aggressive, and a better fielding team. How does this move advance that plan?

Twins Add Catching Depth with Early Offseason Swap
Ricky Vaughn replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Its not the trade of Eeles, I know he will never be anything but light hitting utility player at best. Why would anyone trade for a catcher who hits a buck fifty and pay him 1.8 mil. If thats what they had in mind why not bring back Vazquez. -
Twins Add Catching Depth with Early Offseason Swap

Underwhelmed -
I don't see the comparison. The Pirates have been winning 65-75 games a year for what. the last 15 years . They compare more with the St Louis Browns. The Twins have a way to go before reaching that level.

My guess is the Twins will hire The manager of their Dominican summer league team as manager and a former cricket player from India as bench coach, in a bid to find an underutilized resource that displays Joe Poulad's visionary leadership.

Who Will Be The Minnesota Twins' Closer in 2026?
Ricky Vaughn replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I have a feeling we wont have a designated closer next year. I think Roccco (he's not going anywhere, unfortunately.) will go with a closer by committee approach. Even with Duran he seemed to want to go this way, but Duran was just to good to do it.- 64 replies

One of these outfielders need to be given a first basemen glove and sent to Fort Meyers for instruction.

I Think Jeffers will be traded. Its his last year before free agency and considering who his agent is I don't see the Twins being able to extend him. Larnach may be able to be traded to someone for a reliever or a middling prospect. Sad return for a first round pick.

I think one of Lopez/Ryan will be traded. I prefer to keep Pablo as a mentor to all the young guys. I have one question. I keep seeing people referring to cutting payroll before a lockout in 2027. What difference does it make? If there is a lockout no one is getting paid anyway so it doesn't hurt the owners bottom line.

Byron Buxton, in Uncharted Territory
Ricky Vaughn replied to Matthew Trueblood's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I would love to see him play in a world series for the Twins. I don't see that happening in the years he has left to play. I hope he approves a trade to a team with a real shot getting him in one. (just not the Yankees)
