  1. As per Michael Rand of the Tribune, Pagon ranks 1128th of 1133 pitchers since 2021 by WPA. Who's 1133 you ask. Alex Colome of course, and Trevor McGill is right between them at 1130th. How incompetent does a front office have to be to have 3of the 6 worst pitchers in MLB the last 2.5 years?
  2. No discussion of his defensive ability. As a catcher that's more important than hitting a few home runs.
  3. "A flop at the Tropp." Bremer after the last out. You know things are bad when says something negative.
  4. He been a nice find so far and his control has been better of late, but its a long season. we'll see if hes been real or fools gold after the season.
  5. He almost broke his neck yesterday. I don't think you can say anything is settled, he seems to have Buxton disease.
  6. When Maeda comes back go to a 6 man rotation at least a couple times through. Give everyone a little more rest. Odds are by then someone will need an IL stint or something will happen to resolve the situation.
  7. Not to worried about his hitting. Signing him made complete sense last winter, and I was surprised and happy they did. This team has spent a lot more on riskier contracts. Lopez getting $75 million for one. Someone who has great stuff but has never turned in results to match, and has had recurrent shoulder problems. I think this is the one to worry about.
  8. Put Buxton back in the field! The team is only getting about 30% of his value this way. 80-90 games of him playing the field is better than is better than what were getting now. At least try 2 in the field then a day at DH, try something to get him out there.
  9. His defense is spectacular. On offense it seems that he only hits when the game has already been won or lost. That has been true last year and this year, so why not at least move him down in the order.
  10. Swept by Houston and tied with Detroit for the central division. Then losing 3 out of 4 to Cleveland. This team looks like they expect bad thing to happen. Maybe Lewis can spark them but that's asking a lot of a rookie in a clubhouse with Correa and Buxton in it.
  11. If the lack of hitting keeps up the pitchers will start feeling like they have to be perfect. Then the mistakes will start. suddenly the score will be 8-1 instead of 3-1
  12. He's allowing his career's highest home run rate (1.1 HR/9), but it's a limited sample size to this point. I'm not saying he hasn't shown improvement, but you can't use the good things as proof he has improved, and the bad is just small sample size.
  13. When they failed to score in the 7th yesterday I said well that was their chance, its over. Got up and went outside to do a little yard work. unfortunately I was right.
  14. After the struggles he had last year, he needs to stay put in St. Paul and have some success. If he is still pitching well and throwing strikes in late June or July then is the time to bring him for a look see.
  15. I think AK has the ability to be the twins most complete hitter in years. So yes he will be the key if his wrist is ok.
  16. I just can't see Lee being brought up this year. he looks like he is right where he belongs in Wichita. Also he doesn't have a place to play. It would take a lot of injuries to get him on the 40 man. I hope Lewis can take over at 3rd and Buxton can go back to the outfield. This would let Miranda become a !B/DH. He just doesn't seem athletic enough to play 3b.
  17. If this keeps up the pitchers will start feeling the pressure to be perfect and then the wheels will really fall off.
  18. Whether the Twins should have protected the two that got away needs more info. Who were the players kept that took the spots they would have gotten? What were the teams needs at the time? Then you always have to wonder if the player got some instruction that helped that the Twins would not of given them.
  19. Not even close to moving him to the pen. At times he just dominates a lineup. I think most of his lower body injuries can be corrected by changes to his mechanics or conditioning.
  20. Wow 20% of the season played and you want to kick ass and take names. Have a little patience.
  21. The loss of velocity doesn't preclude him from being successful, but makes it harder. If he can prevent hard contact he should be fine. Probably not a 1 or 2 starter but back end starters are valuable too.
  22. Look for help in the pen. Pagon isn't being used at all even in a mop up role. Why is still here, do Rocco and the FO have a difference of opinion here?
  23. I think he would be against being a full time DH considering the way his contract is constructed. How many Dh's get MVP votes? He seems driven to be the best he can be, and I can't see him accepting this role. If he does then I think it must mean his knee and or hip are a lot worse than is publicly known.
  24. If Buxton is only going to be a DH from now on, as Rocco seemed to say the other day I don't think he can be considered a core player anymore.
