This is a good day for the pro sell-off crowd. Abel has been dominant, Bader is 0-3 with 2 Ks, and Outman homered. It 's been a good day, and I'm not sure I'm quite as optimistic as you, but I see a bright future as well.

Austin Martin has made the type of improvements in his game at the major league level that we saw from Gabriel Gonzalez at the minor league level. They are not similar players. Each made enormous gains defensively. Martin is quite athletic and he is playing fast now with less and less hesitancy to his game. Gonzalez worked his body hard and must have taken a ton of reps to became a playable outfielder. Martin has become a very consistent pest in the batter's box and his OBP is really a needed feature of a decent team.

Peter, I for one have misssed your positivity. 

The Twins need too many things to go right to contend next year but I'd be happy with crisp, well played games from now on. (I asked for this in jUly also.........)

Would have liked to see Abel keep pitching. It's surprising to see him pulled in his final start of the year after only 73 pitches. Still an amazing start

Ober first 10 MLB games - 1-1 5.19 ERA (5.36 FIP), 10/10 GM/GS, 43.1 IP, 45/13 K/BB, 11 HR, 0 QS

Abel is 2 years younger than Ober was during his rookie season

Pretty even starts to their respective careers, let's hope Abel improves as much as Ober did (or more).
