Watch any other team play a game or two and if you see that play that's how it play's out almost every time. The player who takes the big turn to draw the throw to allow the run to score is generally thrown out without much of a "rundown" occuring. It's not the way the game used to be played, nor was it accepted to play it that way, regardless of the norm now. Jeffers' mission was accomplished. The play is still live. There are only 2 outs. Things can happen if you force the other team to make a play. Not likely, but sometimes it is successful if a player makes the action happen. This is no different than a runner not running the ground ball out, or watching a fly ball from the plate that you think is a homer and only getting to first instead of a double because it bounced off the wall. If that is stupid baseball **** to talk about it, then I plead guilty. RpR and SF Twins Fan 1 1

Not running hard to first or admiring a deep fly ball, I also agree should not happen and should not be allowed to continue to happen. It happens so rarely however that guys that run hard every play are pointed out as being different, i.e. he hustles every play, he plays hard, he doesn't take a play off, etc...
