Seems odd to pile on Matt Wallner in a game where he was the only offense. He even made a nice running catch in RF. Good game, Matt.

Several posters here seem to be obsessed with Matt and feel the need to point out every mistake he makes. It's kind of creepy.

Infield in or back wasn't the problem,throwing fastballs down the middle was. Springer hit the first pitch 111 mph to LF and it only got worse from there.

Wallner has no business playing RF,he is a liability in the field. Watching him when the ball is hit to him is a will he or won't he catch the ball.

They still have a good chance to lose 100 games.

He did indeed have a nice game. 

And I for one don't think he's as bad in RF as some. Not good, but not that bad, either. 

However, he's played his role in the Twins disappointing season. The team needs him to provide consistent impact. It hasnt been there.

They're pretty much guaranteed to keep trying out bad relief pitchers for the rest of the season. The next 6 weeks are open tryouts for bad players.

I'm actually surprised at how people are still upset when the Twins lose. Twins fans need to lower their expectations a LOT for the remainder of 2025. You're watching a bad baseball team. Don't let it affect your blood pressure.

For me, it is not losing, it is the lack of hitting to at least make the game interesting.

If the Twins were losing 1-0, that would entertaining as pitcher duels, but they are NOT!

Fighting for a top draft pick this year and at least next year. We may just be competing with the WSOX and Rockies for worst record in baseball next year....

I wish they would emphasize defense a little more. Putting Gasper in to catch and Julien at 1B isn't helping any of our pitchers.

Gasper is doing better than Jeffers did his first year catching; now Gasper's bat, not sure what happened.  He was "raking" as they say in AAA, but after he was injured, his bat in AAA was not there any more.

agreed, but why a 31 year old with his history? Because he can strike out minor league hitters? He isn't a good pitcher and there is no reason his innings couldn't go to some minor league player. (Which it is a kind of joke the Twins minor league pitchers numbers are)
