One of the more interesting notes concerning Jax: Once the teardown was underway Thursday, including the shocking deal which sent Correa back to the Astros, Jax asked his representative to put in the trade request, multiple league sources confirmed. The blowup on the mound in the 9th inning right before deadline day probably escalated things as well. I’m sure he’s happy he doesn’t have to see Rocco every day. USAFChief 1

Pat Verified Member Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 More left handed hitting outfielders? How many do you need? Pitiful.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 I would change the title slightly - the team long ago fell apart. This was the Front Office razing the ruins and salting the earth. I'm not even saying that was the wrong call, but this has been the worst team in baseball (outside two weeks) for almost an entire season now. Bodie and Mike Sixel 2

If a team os long paid for, how did they get a $400,000,000 debt when MLB has rules against borrowing money for non baseball items after the Wilpon fiasco? Quit talking sense, this is a sports site for a small regional team who vote for the DFL...
Bodie Verified Member Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 One competent one would be nice... not sure how zero lefthanded OFs with major league production is somehow too many!

And not "lovable losers" either, just... well I guess losers, period.

Cherry pick away 13 wins, and the Twins record is still far better than Colorado's. (And yes, the Twins did lose to them.) It's difficult to absorb just how truly awful the Rockies are. Whenever people say, "it can't get any worse," I just point southwestward from Target Field.

Won't be the same as putting Duran out there, but its looking like Erasmo earned the opportunity to be the new closer. What has Erasmo earned from pitching 11 innings in AAA and giving up 8 runs?! Nothing other than over exaggeration after getting a save for our single win so far since the trade deadline. We don't have a lot to cheer on in that bullpen right now.

There is cherry-picking, yes. However, since June 1st this year we have been worse than the Rockies. (21-34 to 21-33) So as bad as you say they are, for a two month sample size....we're right there with them. I was simply saying that from the start of last year's collapse to now, the vast majority of baseball being played has been at bottom of the barrel levels. Are we still better than the Rockies? Sure. Not a high bar to clear...but one we've managed for fail for two months. That two week stretch, while glorious and the wins count, masked what had been a long-standing trend. Not only were we not good, we weren't even particularly close to it. Mike Sixel 1
