I think the most concerning comment I heard was from Lewis himself. He apparently said that he doesn’t have much hope for himself, even though the coaches are telling him to stick with it and he will soon see the results. I’m paraphrasing, but those comments were brought up by Plouffe the other night during the game. If those comments are accurate, his mental state does not sound good. As another poster pointed out earlier, he may be at the “breaking point” with his attitude. He has not struggled like this in his career, so if he has lost confidence, he has to do something to try to get that back. Twins coaches are seeing him everyday so they know more about his mental state. I hope Falvey and Rocco take that into account. Continually failing is going to damage Lewis, possibly beyond repair.

Removing him for a faster runner after we got the lead in the 10th says a lot.

Well, every time he tries to run full speed he pulls a muscle and misses a month.

"dialectical materialism" It has been weeks since this phrase has made the comments section, and I will never tire of seeing it. :)

He started out great with all the grand slams and I think it went to his head. He started acting like an established supertstar. He talks a good game and he's trying to be the leader and the face of the team. But pitchers have figured him out and he hasn't adjusted.

They did the same thing with Wallner, Kirilloff, Miranda, Julien.

Something needs to be done beyond benching and moving to 9th in the lineup.

Two long hitless streaks and indications that he isn't 100% are plenty of justification to take him off the active roster. I think he could and should be put on the Injured List if he can't run close to 100% and most or all of the allotted rehab time should be used once he is ready to get on the field.

Many thought of him as a savior, but the guy trying to play right now is not contributing positively to the team. The superior player is in there somewhere and he needs to get right first and foremost.
