What does the spreadsheet say about a guy being pretty damn dominant, at least starting the next inning???

Probably that a fly ball to the track, a double off the wall and a smoked grounder doesn't count as dominant. I'm definitely going to the pen.

It was huge in my area too. Tons of leagues. It all died out around the turn of the century for some reason

For big games, crowds would be huge. A couple thousand at times.

Dam, why do I feel so old when someone says it died about the turn of the century and it wasn’t 1900?

Come on, Beef.

He has been pretty shaky since he came back.  He's not quite in Alcala territory, but three runs isn't enough for comfort with him, either.

In NY State it seemed like not a lot of young guys were joining leagues after the 1990s, so the leagues kind of aged out.

How tf do the umpires not know the count

For high school games, I blame the scoreboard operators, who are usually kids from the junior high team.

Any explanation? It was always a great way to kinda play the game and stay in a bit of shape?

Good question.  There were never enough pitchers here.  Also nothing against slowpitch but you had to be at least moderately athletic to play fastpitch.
