I like Castro and hope that we re-sign him, but he was definitely over used and overexposed this year.

He reminds me a lot of Nick Punto. A solid utility guy and late inning replacement, but not someone who should be in the lineup every day. To be fair, he's only gotten as many at-bats as he had because of injuries and poor performers.

What a sad ending to an equally sad year. It is actually sort of poetic how things are ending... I wish people would stop going to games next year so that the Pohald's would feel it where it hurts them the most. They would likely cut payroll again if fans persisted to not attend games, which would hopefully cause more fans to revolt. The end game would be "forcing" the Pohald's to sell the team. It would be a great investment for someone with deep pockets as they'd be buying a discounted product given the lack of attendance in prior year(s) before the sale. The new owners could promise the fanbase they are committed to competing, sign a few big name players, and you have a recipe for a large return on investment. I know how unlikely this is, but one guy on an internet blog took on WallStreet, so there is a non-zero chance of this happening.

Problem I see is new owners would probably want to move the team to Nashville, Portland, Charlotte or some other city

No matter how much it is cried for by Twins fans, the Pohlads will never sell.  If you think billionaires have a heart, I'd like to introduce you to that snake John Fisher in Oakland.

I disagree - billionaires only care about money. If they are losing their ass in a business venture they very well may divest and use the money elsewhere.

Lewis is hitting just a touch over .200 over past 30 games. 1 HR and 9 RBI. Talk about a guy who has completely gone into the tank. We complain about Julien but Royce isn't any better, honestly.

Whats wrong with him? Still injured?

Punto was way better on defense, but Castro better stick and more capable, or at least used, in the OF.

I don't think so. Twin Cities are more enviable market ultimately than them. That would be a very short sighted relocation.

I kind of agree. If they start seeing their assets ROI dropping AND the appreciation stalling? I could see them cashing out their $1.5 billion dollar chip.

Jax now in the game, Rocco managing like his life is in the balance.

“It’s just a game”, been hearing people say that a lot

Too little too late from him. Should have been showing this urgency weeks ago.

But then Minneapolis could get the Tampa franchise, and Tampa could get the Vegas franchise, and Oakland could get the expansion franchise, and so on…..

I think Gladden said it on the radio earlier in the series, but these Marlins guys look like beer league softball players.

Lewis has been stinging the ball.

That one was 103mph off the bat, way harder than average.

what can you do

This is where people do fall in love with all those metrics. It really matters not how many mph he hits the ball. Major league players are paid to hit the ball hard. Gotta get hits, not hard hit outs. Hitting into bad luck, some say? Its a long season. Good hitters (you know the ones who say I don't do slumps) find the holes.

True.  They havent sold but continually cry how they are losing money.  Tells me they are not losing money at all.

It’s definitely something worthy of debate.

I also think Lewis not being given a position to play anymore (ok, third base, but we already had one of those) plays a bigger part on the psyche than most people think.

I agree - the new owners could look at what the Vikings and now Timberwolves are doing in a smaller market. Very loyal fanbase (until you reach the breaking point). People have been clamoring for the Twins to spend money since the beginning of time, which is evidence people will be very committed to spending money on games, merch, tuning into games, etc. which would be a boon for a new ownership group.

Yeah - "losing money" to them is making less than the max.

I see the popcorn erased the donut on the scoreboard.  What snack do I go to next?  Just trying to push ALL the buttons now that there is nothing left to lose.
