What an effing train wreck. The GM(s), manager, and entire coaching staff need to be dumped. Of course, they won't be and everyone will be back. It's sickening.

Hopefully if this is the case, the fans won't be back

I know they were down by 6 but the ABs in the 9th showed a team that went to the plate half-heartedly. Actually this game ended when the 3 run HR reversed the 2-0 lead. There were 2 outs and none on. After that our boys went home. Listless and not engaged. Pretty much the story of both games. And as a result the Twins actually put Boston back into the race. Probably not likely, but they are still mathematically in it. And thats just plain sad.

Closed door or players' only meetings usually come with a bit of fanfare and media hype. Remember when the Twins had one in April? IIRC, they had one last season after they got swept in Atlanta.

Notice how there wasn't one in August or September? Season completely going off the rails and no one felt the need to stand up and try to patch it together.

The players know what they have in the dugout.

They're done.

After that collapse in Texas - about 6 weeks ago now - I knew what was coming. It's been a total collapse since that point and it begins and ends with the manager.

I believe it was one of the Twins’ worst collapse ever.  Very disappointing!

If they don’t fire the manager, coaching staff, front office then the Twins are at risk to losing their fan base. It will be interesting to see of they do anything.

Somebody will have to go. Pohlad probably knows it can't be status quo going into next year. It probably depends on who is tighter with the owner determining who stays. It could be one of the 3 going, both Falvey and Lavine or all 3. Will be interesting to see what happens, but I won't be checking everyday. Apathy has set in with this old boy.

No.  The team (and injury) are responsible for not winning the division.  Rocco did more than enough personally to collapse right out of the wild card. Over the year how many times at the drop of a hat has he taken out a pitcher doing excellent to put in a failure because he was a lefty or whatever.  He seems to think it’s the only consideration. Tonight Zebby gave up his second (?) hit in 4 2/3. One more batter to go 5 innings.  So get him out of there and put in the unknown lefty.  This has happened over and over again..  He wants to make it about him. If the lefty comes through (usually he didn’t) oh boy Rocco knew just when to take out the pitcher doing well.

Unfortunately, we cannot fire the owner.  Buying no game tickets is the only way we can hurt the ownership. Since 2016, I haven't gone to watch a game.

I’ve been a Twins fan a long time.  Who else remembers Bombo Rivera?  I’ve never wanted a manager out before including when they probably needed it and my fellow fans were crying for it.  That precedent is out the window.  In spades. But I don’t know if I agree with others here calling for whole staff to go including the FO.. I think it’s the manager and his need to make it about him.

63 y/o used to be die hard fan. Not so much anymore. The organization has taken the joy out of it for me. Cannot deal with Rocco, don't even like looking at him in the dugout with his 0 personality. But, I DO remember Bombo. He had his moments.

That just makes me sad. WTF #MNTwins!?!

Although unlikely, 2024 could still tie 2023 record, and still end the season in 4th in the division.

87 won the division last year, and is 3rd or 4th place this year.

super-duper frustrating watching a 17 game over team just curl up into the fetal position

This is such a tired bit. Every Twins season fans say "well at least we have the Vikings to cheer for," and at the end of the Vikings season fans say, "Go Timberwolves." and at the end of the Timberwolves season fans say "Go Twins." Repeat every year, and every year. I don't find any humor and comfort in these sayings anymore..

Who says "go Timberwolves " when MILW BUCKS right next door

Hey that guy they took out Zebby (doing excellent) out for WAS a lefty..  That makes all the difference for Rocco.  Even though this same thing from today has happened again and again and again.

Rocco sucks

They already paid the FO guys when they upped them middle of this year.

Baseball is a business.  They look at it as such.

An interesting clinically study would pit what the fan move vs. Team GM over 5 years

Where are you, Rocco apologists? Hiding? Ready to admit you have been wrong for years? If not for the Bomba squad, who i could have managed, he would go down as one of the worst Twins managers of all time.  No exaggeration either. I can't be a Twins fan anymore if I have to look at him in the dugout again next year.

I have to totally agree it's hard to see him in the dugout  , it's time for a change  , a big shake up  ...

I stopped listening to rocco's  pre and post game interviews  along time ago ( i have no time for his BS and anyone that thinks differently isn't listening carefully enough , he  says one thing and does the opposite , is that his way of improvising  ) ...

Also ,  I'm a true believer that he did not deserve the manager of the year award in 2019 because the players had career years  with a juiced ball , his managing in the playoffs proved he has no clue how to manage in 2019 ...
