Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 They got burned last night with Farmer being aligned incorrectly - so what happens today? This is just a bad baseball team. There's no other way around it. NYCTK, C-Gangster and Peter 1 1 1

Gonna push back on this criticism. The Twins are actually in the top half of the league in K-rate in high leverage situations. The Guardians are better but it's marginal 22.6% for them vs 23.3% for the Twins.
OvertheHill Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Can’t fault Irvin really.

exeoud Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Irvin did his job that inning, Rocco should be charged that earned run. 2 routine grounders if not for the shifts. Twins_Fan_in_NJ 1

Then that fly ball to Buxton there is an inning ended instead of a sac fly….. I guarantee Correa looks to go to 2nd base as well there......it's a freaking double play ball and Farmer is trotting from right field? What the heck is with that positioning? Is that on Rocoo, Farmer???? It's unreal. hitterscount and Twins_Fan_in_NJ 2

Correa checks to 2nd and see’s no one there and goes to first for the out… basic baseball. Fly ball to Buxton ends the inning. Small mistakes killing this team.
jaimedude Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Another terrible infield shift on a routine ground ball. Rocco's magic touch and bufoonery strikes again. Twins_Fan_in_NJ and Parfigliano 2
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 This is another margins game. Unnecessary shift in the field costs you a run.

Maybe I’m just generally critical of how baseball is taught, coached and played these days with the obsession on HR distance, launch angle, etc as opposed to the much more entertaining (IMO) approach of moving up runners, stealing bases, spoiling pitches, etc. This brand of baseball is BORING, and at the end of the day this is entertainment. I’m not inclined to spend much money on entertainment that bores me. Tlaker, hitterscount and Peter 2 1
Western SD Fan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 That’s been the saddest part about this team. They get out of a tough inning and don’t even let themselves breathe before they have to go back out on the field. And that’s where the defensive lapses come from. Put the damn ball in play for once!

I believe 12 of 19 outs today are Ks. HR or bust is a dumb strategy for a non power hitting team like TC but its the strategy the suits have. hitterscount 1

insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Twins must start scoring runs. There is no way they win this game late against Cleveland unless they get a few runs. Which has been the impossible dream.

Matter of opinion on which is more "exciting" I guess.
