Also a pretty good example to show the next young whippersnapper who tells you pitchers can't "pitch to the situation."

Sale is sitting low 90s until he needs it. Then it 97, 98, 99.

Good thing they didn't bunt a run in with runners on second and third with no outs. That would have been a really embarrassing way to tie the game. I mean 1/5 to 1/over3 odds to get a hit, and way less against Sale today. A way better strategy.

I would rather watch Ron Davis pitch than this club right now. When they miss the playoff's Rocco has to go.

Extended  his contract already,   can you honestly think they would pay for 2 Managers at the same time

The rookie pitching for this team has been super impressive, all things considered.  The future is bright.

Just hard to enjoy it with everything else going off the rails lately.

There is no reason Brooks Lee should still be in Saint Paul.

This is a bad baseball team right now.

They just don't look like they are ready to play and that starts with the manager. All of the brain farts, the bad base running, the horrible line up construction and it has been horrible, The mis management of the pen.

Heh.

Nice AB Castro

Was that the worst at-bat of the homestead so far?
Bases loaded, starting pitcher laboring to get outs, 30+ pitches in the inning and our All-Star Castro strikes out on three straight fastballs. All the while Smalley fluffs it all up by telling us that major league fastballs are hard to hit.
Why am I watching this?!

Wallner is showing he needs to be in the lineup every day regardless of who is pitching.  Stop with the platoon nonsense and play your best players.

Why is this even an issue at this point of the season?

I agree but then again this is the team giving Lewis a mental reset day when you need to playing your best players against another playoff team.  It's not like we only have 30 games left, there is plenty of time to catch Cleveland.

It'll never happen but Festa should get the 7th.  But why stick with the hot hand when you can cave to the numbers and bring in a worse pitcher (if it's Thielbar).

I honestly think we would have less injuries if he just played our best players everyday like they should be playing. I don't know how anyone on this team can get comfortable hitting 9th one day, 4th the next day, back to 9th and then getting 2 rest days. How is anyone supposed to get in any kind of rhythm playing for Rocco.

Maybe this is why they look disinterested? Rocco’s lineups, pinch hitting early, having your closer pitch in the 7th might have finally taken their toll.

Rocco is a big reason why Sonny left and he is going to be the reason we lose Joe Ryan. In case no one on here has noticed Joe Ryan can't stand Rocco.

I believe you play your best players when they're healthy.

Giving them time off intentionally does zero to keep them healthy and only adds to the time they'll eventually miss when/if they're NOT healthy.

It just amounts to an added unnecessary trip to the IL, spread out into one day trips that accumulate into the same thing.
