That would be the way. If they have an opportunity to tank for the 6 seed in exchange for the 5 seed they have to do it. Then you also get the 2 seed fraud Guardians in the ALDS as opposed to the 1 seed AL East team.

That’s a .595 percentage, which is above their current .560 on the year. However, .560 would have them going 21-16, so they only need to go one game better than their year-to-date pace. 

Additionally, I put more stake in their recent play. Take out the debacle of the first three weeks and they have played .598 pace over the past 103 games, so 22-15 isn’t at all unrealistic. 

Similarly, Cleveland built up their cushion in the first half and have been playing .500 for the past two months, so that’s not unrealistic either. 

That’s why they play it, right? But a couple game lead at this point is anywhere but insurmountable.

A so so team might have a good 20 game stretch. The Guardians are frauds? 125 games of luck? No way.
