Beat me to it.

I've been working on a song while I'm base umpiring. Think Rudolf the red nosed reindeer with 14u travel ball names.

Everyone has a Jaxson, nobody spells it the same.

First job out of college was as a sports reporter and a local volleyball team had Nicki Miller, Nikki Miller and Niki Miller.

I'm 34 and have several friends with kids. Almost all of them have a name ending with on or en. Some have gone with the vintage names like Evelyn, Edyth, Nolan, etc.

They all work as reindeer names.

Why would Jeffers be out on that play?

If you make any move toward second you are in play. Ump called it very tight but Jeffers should know better.

Jeffers fault.

Nah cmon. That’s like if there’s a wild throw at first on a ground ball and the runner turns his head quickly to find it near the dugout. No one on earth would call that except that guy. Ticky tack

Be nice if the veteran player would protect his teammate when he's trying to steal instead of giving the catcher a clear shot.

I'm missing context, clearly... It said on game play there was a play at home and Buxton was safe. That's why I'm confused how Jeffers could have possibly been called out.

****ing ump. Should be 2 on, no out.

Bad calls against TC are becoming a theme of this game

The ump said Jeffers turned toward second when he overran 1B. The Tigers tagged him before he got back to 1B.

After reaching first he turned around quickly to find the ball that got away from the catcher at home. The umpire interpreted that as a move to second

He made a motion towards second and was too dumb to go stand on the base and was tagged out.

Ahhh. When Buck scored the ball rolled loose. Jeffers had already crossed first. When he saw the ball loose he made a small move towards second. The Tigers alertly saw it and they tagged out Jeffers.
