Is the home plate ump really as bad as everyone is saying? I can't watch the game, but if people are wanting Angel instead of him, he sounds like he has to be amazingly bad.

He has called a lot of Strikes on Twins hitters that weren't even close... it's hard to watch

Keep looking at that rectangular box that is just an approximation and crying about it.

Let's take away the box for a second. In your opinion, were the calls on Max and Castro strikes?

Interesting to let Larnach bat there, radio speculation that his spot will come in the ninth against a RH closer.

Julien absence messing up the right left mix leading to all kinds of interesting (better) managing.

What did the umpire say? That's the answer.

Drop it.

Sure thing, Dad!

This is an extremely important topic to talk about, so I will continue. Across all of baseball.

FWIW I'm pretty sure when people say corrupt umpires and refs they mean professional sports. Are you a professional umpire (which would be pretty cool and I'd have questions for you)?

Is it? Someone needs to send a massage to umpires in calling fair game. This is why I hate all umpires/referees! They are corrupt. That’s why it’s time to get rid of them all together and go robotic/AI.

Lighten up dude. I agree its time to try the robot behind the plate but that's no reason to insult all umpires and referees and calling them corrupt. Waaaay overboard!

According to the umpire, YES. And since you insinuated that I never played. The strike zone is usually established early. So if it's close, you better be swinging. I know it sucks. But that's the way it is.  And I'll acknowledge that 2-1 vs 1-2 or any favorable count for the pitcher increases the difficulty for the hitter. You deal with it. If the calls are totally lopsided. Favoring one team. Then again I'll acknowledge that it would be problematic

Jax needs to ditch this sweeper tonight and get this last out before they have to use someone else.

Baldelli should stick up for his players more.

When umpires are this inconsistent and bad, it makes you wonder if there is gambling involved………

A loss here isn’t the end of the world. The upsetting thing to me is that the offense is so darn inconsistent. The funk of Jeffers and Kepler are even more noticeable.

The loss is a microcosm of the problems that plague this team and why they're likely to be home in October.

I get paid pretty well to do it so, yes, I'm a professional. Fire away with your questions, always happy to help.

Astounding how comfortable folks can be with words like corrupt. I'd let the courts sort out whether it's libel, slander or defamation. It gets tricky and I'm not that expert.

Maybe best to avoid that kind of lunacy.
