Dave Borton Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 How would you like to be playing 1B, using that old worn out mitt you have in the garage, and have one of Correa's 96mph coming at you.
junior8791 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Thanks for the update, B somebody needs to tell me on losing the first half AAA on a extra loss? I get it, a rain out, you shouldn't be penalties for that

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 TB/Cle heads to the 10th. 5-5.
Linus Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Swing the fing bat. We all know that borderline pitches can be called strikes. Julien has a chance to do real damage at a critical part of the game and puts it in the umpires hands. USAFChief, RickOShea, wabene and 1 other 4

tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 For whatever reason Julien has a bad rep with umpires. We have talked about this before. He lets balls go by and swings at strikes. Forget the box, those three pitches were not strikes and the umpire just called him out. Should he swing at balls out of the zone or expand his zone with two strikes? He doesn't hit those pitches out of the zone but perhaps he needs to work on fouling a few off. Guys like Ted Williams, Wade Boggs, etc almost always got the benefit of the doubt on borderline pitches. They convinced umpires they knew the strike zone. Young guys, some times have difficulties breaking away from a negative reputation of knowing the zone.

It's gotta be super frustrating for a young hitter who has a good idea of what the strike zone is to be constantly rang up on balls outside of the zone.
