And why did it take 2 days to come to this decision?  And release the lineup 30 min before the 1st pitch. CIA Twins?

I have to believe it went down to the wire on whether they would IL Buxton. Garlick lives!

I’ll make a bold prediction that either Lewis or Correa hits the IL before the Twins return home.

The decision was probably made yesterday, or at the latest this morning. But there's no reason to announce the decision sooner than it needs to be announced.

And once again I ask why? Correa is playing tonight but if there's a chance Lewis or Correa may not play for a few days why not IL them and be done. But no. Let's play with a short bench against a division rival ala Cleveland last week. Buxton got hit on Friday. Today is Tuesday.  Lewis ok. He's being handled with care. I get it but if they're thinking he's going to be out, then why wait. I don't get it

Honestly, you are probably right, but the best reason to announce it as soon as they lock down the details is because that’s the normal thing to do.

I mean, it’s not like we are running a trick play or trying to take Tampa bay by surprise here :)

We’ve seen it over and over. “He’ll be 100% the day after tomorrow.” Then two days later, the guy can’t go.

Players recover at different rates. My (sad) prediction about Correa has more to do with the long-term probability that the injury isn’t healed and will recur. I hope I’m wrong and that CC plays like a Top Teenty player again.

Because they want to make the decision about any IL stays as late as possible. I expect Lewis will not be out for 10 days, but it doesn't hurt to give him another day off to make sure. None of us knows whether Correa will need to be rested and, if so, for how long. I'm sure they didn't want to commit to a 10-day IL assignment for Buxton until they absolutely had to. IL stays can be retroactive. It's a complex situation but the team is handling these issues well. Please do not complain.

It's not a complaint. I understand that IL stays are retroactive. But in 1 game vs Cleveland the Twins bench was Vasquez and another game there was a short bench with a sick Kirilloff. My point is when you prolong your decision you can handcuff your self. And both of those were winnable games.
