OMG!OMG!OMG!

That has to be one of the best games ever … second only to game 7 of the 1991 WS

I immediately thought the same thing. It was an amazing game.

For those who were skeptical about the interest, I don't know why but to each their own.

I believe more people saw this game on television than any Super Bowl ever. Japan and Mexico alone with huge support.

Ohtani - Trout, tomorrow night.

Wow.

SORRY OFF TOPIC , BUT CAN YOU GET BY ONLY SPEAKING ENGLISH ?  tHANKS

Yes you can, I've done it for 24 years.  Of course my Japanese is better than when I first arrived, but it still sucks.  I'm not proud of it, and I think if I tried harder to improve my Japanese I would have had a, I don't know what the word is, uh, "richer" experience--whatever that means.  Anyway, I'm doing fine with rudimentary Japanese.

What a fun game to watch. Great hits. Great catches. Japan just kept coming. Mexico responded. Such a tough loss for them.

I guess the rules were all thrown out for the last runner. It looked kinda like the Stanford band.

Thank you,   very good to know that

I haven't been watching it--I saw about three innings of the USA vs. the UK, and saw two innings of Mexico and Japan last night before going to something else.  I do have it on tonight, but I'm also surfing the web, kind of watching out of one eye.  I just can't interested in exhibition games in team sports with pro athletes.  I don't care about the World Cup, and the Olympics have lost some of their luster for me over the past 30 years.

I know that the major injuries the MLB teams have suffered should cause MLB to press to have this in November.  It wouldn't help Diaz, but Altuve would likely be ready to play in April with his injury.

Really impressed with alot of Japans players , been looking up alot of stats    play 143 games, Murakami is off the charts,

Minimum plate appearances equal to 3.1 times the number of games played by that player's club

And that's my attitude--I'm not interested, but I'm not bothered that others like it.

I just don't want any Twins hurt doing it (and yes, yes, I know, players can be hurt in spring training games)

I will never understand not enjoying the WBC. To each their own, but Ohtani vs Trout with a title on the line is literally as good as it gets in baseball. These players care. They're going all out. The 2 best players on the planet are set to face each other in a game they both very much care about. It's everything I think you could ever ask for.

That was another amazing game. I'm trying to think of a more dramatic moment between batter and pitcher than Ohtani facing Trout in the 9th inning. The best pitcher beat the best hitter for the end to a scintillating WBC.

This was some of the best all around baseball that I have seen in seven decades of being a fan/coach/player.

For now at least, there can be no real argument - Ohtani is the greatest baseball player alive.

Just WOW!

Did you all see that Japan had Suzuki's jersey (#51, baseball's all time hit leader) with them in the dugout and on the stage for the photos and ceremonies.

I was hoping Trout would have a chance for a long ball against Shohei but that slider was just ridiculous. Congratulations to all of the players in the WBC and to the fans who made this WBC such a terrific showcase for baseball.

Did anyone ever respond? You can get by speaking English, but sometimes if you get outside of the bigger cities, it can get a bit tricky. In the end, you can usually find someone to help you.

I love the WBC for guys that have never played MLB and guys who haven't been in MLB in a long time.

I was pumped to watch local legends like Tim Kennelly of Australia and Alfredo despaigne of Cuba... And learned about the Japanese slugger... As well as guys like Roger Bernadina.

Correction: this wasn't for Ichiro it was for Seiya Suzuki who plays for the Cubs now and was going to play for the WBC but then got injured before it started. But he was still in touch with the team, especially Murakami and so Murakami (iirc) had his jersey with him for the celebration to honor him being with the team in spirit. But yeah I thought it was Ichiro as well because of the number 51, which I'm fairly sure Seiya Suzuki wears because of Ichiro.
