Cuddyer

Scully just said that he's deaf in his left ear and has been that way since the age of 11. Is that true or is he just making **** up? I've felt like he makes things up for awhile, but I find it odd that I've never heard of that in the ten years he was with the Twins.

This is old news. I remember exploring justifications of this being the reason that he couldn't stick at 3rd base--he couldn't hear the freaking short stop. I believe that this information is a fact, but I really can't say with any certainty how it has affect his game.

Another reason why he is my favorite player. He never made a deal of his "disability" and did things so that people speaking to him didn't even notice he couldn't hear out of one ear.

I also heard it was hard for him to hear the bat connected with the ball while playing 3rd, which might not be huge thing, but it could make fielding his position more difficult.

I played golf with Cuddy, and you'd never know it. He'd stand with his right side toward the speaker when talking and you wouldn't even notice. Years of practice probably made it automatic.

LOL... If Vin Scully makes things up during the course of his broadcasts.

In my mind... That only cements his position as the greatest Baseball announcer ever.

If he doesn't have an interesting story on a player. No problem... I'll just write something or come up with something off the top of my head.

"1 out in the top of the third... That brings up Aaron Hill for the Diamondbacks... Aaron Hill is a California product.. Born in the San Joaquin Valley... in the Town of Visalia.

The Pitch from Kershaw... Low and outside... Ball one...

The San Joaquin Valley is known as the Food Basket of the World and as a child... Aaron was instrumental in the devolopment of nut production in the area.

Another fastball from Kershaw... Hill Checks his swing in time... The Pitch is Low... 2-0 the Count now on Aaron Hill.

When Aaron was seven years old... He was trying to dig a hole to China... He didn't know that if you tunneled straight down... You end up in the Indian Ocean... But he tried anyway... The Enterprising Young Man that he was.

That one catches the corner for a Strike... 2 balls 1 Strike.

Water isn't easy to come by in the Valley. Many of the area farms were facing doom with no way to irrigate the Nut Crops. It was Aaron Hill who dug just deep enough to find water and in the process he invented Shallow Well Irrigation saving the 2 billion a year industry. Walnuts, Pastachios, Pecans and Hazelnuts... You can thank Aaron Hill.

Slider from Kershaw... Popped up in the infield... Gonzalez settles under... Taps his glove twice and makes the catch. Two Out".

Perhaps not having lived in Minnesota for 10+ is the cause of my ignorance, I don't know. One would have thought some horse's ass would have made fun of it in some anti-Cuddyer rant.

Don't you need to send his resume somewhere? :-)

Already done. But you know those HR types, it could take weeks to get any useful response.

I can hear Scully with every word in this. This is just perfect!
