I agree, but it has to be with a short leash.  These guys got to know sometimes they may have to extend.  By the same token he has to continue bases solely on performance.

Not getting Cave across in that spot is flat out embarrassing.  Incompetent. 

And, of course the Twins would get screwed on both sides of that stupid rule. They just lost a game on a less egregious plate block.  And they wonder why people believe the game is rigged.

Worth the challenge but there was a meeting in NYC after the several debacles a few weeks back and those calls won't be repeated any time soon with the runner clearly arriving well after the ball.

Calling a contact play in that spot is dumb. They would have been better off going for a suicide squeeze with Gordon.

Cave going straight into Grandal may have caused an issue (or injury), but it just doesn't make any sense to call the runner safe in that situation. The Twins were on the wrong side of a call with Toronto, it happens. 

Hard to believe that Gordon cannot bunt, but if he did the Twins might just DFA him immediately.
