Then you've clearly been there in winter.

Haven't been there (winter or summer), but I'd love to. Plans were to go a couple summers ago, but a family emergency arose when we were midway through the Michigan Upper Peninsula. Hope to try again sometime.

If you go in summer, I believe you'll like it.

Looks like we’ll see Jax in the eighth.

Thanks to pitching Lopez in a non save situation yesterday.

I suspect we'll see him in the 9th.  Unsure what to think about that possibility.

The upper peninsula is beautiful.  We spent several summers there, as well as a couple of summers on Washington Island.  You can't describe, you have to experience it.

I used to run regularly, so the thought of trying to get into Grandma's Marathon was intriguing.

it has been a while since i've been in Duluth (a youth orchestra trip in the 80s, i believe) and i don't think i've been to either Frostbite Falls or Lake Wobegon.

Sorry i am not wise in the lyrics of Mr. John....

Agreed.  Plus Mackinac Island is a neat place, too.

That comment was in regards to the Garlick at-bat and before Gio came to the plate.

Sorry for reading too much into The plural possessive pronoun "our".

Anyway, all's well that makes it half way through well.

Why doesn't rocco stretch some of these relievers out, a bit.  So many times a guy will come in, dominate on just a few pitches, then get pulled.  You run the risk of running out of quality pitching the longer the game progresses.  If we should make the post season, the ability to keep your bullpen strong is important.  There's none of that sill 2nd base crap in the post season if the game is tied after regulation.

We went around Lake Michigan one summer, with most of the time in the UP. The other time we made it to Munising before needing to get back home.

No problem.  I've been guilty of that on this forum more than once myself.

There appeared to be some nice smaller towns in the UP when I was up there earlier this year.  Munising being one of them.

Going in the winter isn’t advised but it can be done. It takes a commitment though.

We loved the locks, followed by the burgers from Clyde's Drive-In.

Would like to get up to the Sault again sometime.  Been so long ago, I only have very faint recollections of being there.

Couldn't agree more.

I saw Elton twice in St. Paul. Halloween (1974?) with young Elton and in the Face-to-Face tour with Billy Joel (much more mature Elton) in about 2006.

Get the **** out. I was at the St Paul Civic Center for Elton. 74 or 75. Snowstorm on the way home. Ended up spending the night at a farmer's house, couldn't make it home.

Loved the locks. Really enjoyed the Shipwreck Museum. Excellent lighthouses.

But probably the biggest highlight was the Toonerville Trolley and a long boat ride to Tahquamenon Falls.
