Loved the locks. Really enjoyed the Shipwreck Museum. Excellent lighthouses.

But probably the biggest highlight was the Toonerville Trolley and a long boat ride to Tahquamenon Falls.

I'll have to remember that, if/when I get up there again.  A bit of a hike up from metro  Indianapolis, where I live, but very doable.

A friend of mine sold his truck to his neighbor's daughter.  It was her first vehicle, and of course it had a manual transmission..

I guess she was so frazzled trying to drive in Duluth, she parked it and took a cab home.  My friend realizing how upset she was, bought it back from her.

Duluth is where I honed my stick shift driving skills. Stopped on a hill going up? No problem.

Bullpen tonight: 14 batters, 13 outs, 55 pitches, 1 single, 6 K's.  And a second strong outing in a row for Jorge Lopez.

Yeah, but we're a long way from happiness.

I expect...no DEMAND that from the pen every game through mid November.

Is that the piano man?

I thought that was Billy Joel, but I wouldn’t argue against either one

0 singles and 7 Ks would also have been acceptuble.

True, but let's try not to get too greedy here.  Haha!

I'm pretty sure Billy Joel was also mentioned at some point tonight. Also pretty sure pianos are involved with both these performers, while i got a sneaking suspicion rockets are dependent on local pyrotechnic rules.

We referred to it as a “Green Dot Road” vacation, as in, a Rand McNally atlas uses green dots to signify a scenic road. Nearly all of our route for the first two-thirds of the trip was on such roads.

Before you hit the bridge, be sure to go through the Tunnel of Trees on M22. Great in summer, phenomenal in fall.

Thanks for the tip.  Much appreciated!

Why doesn't rocco stretch some of these relievers out, a bit.  So many times a guy will come in, dominate on just a few pitches, then get pulled.  You run the risk of running out of quality pitching the longer the game progresses.  If we should make the post season, the ability to keep your bullpen strong is important.  There's none of that sill 2nd base crap in the post season if the game is tied after regulation.

I'm pretty sure that statistics show that most of these arms are much more effective throwing a limited number of pitches.  It's not about being "stretched out" but it's knowing that most of these hard throwing bullpen arms can only pitch at their max potential for say..15 pitches.
