3 runs in 4 innings is honestly about the best outing you could hope for with sands on the mound.

Two pretty good plays by Miranda after the blunder earlier, but it's now 3-0 against a really good, but unknown starter. I imagine Sands is done as he's thrown like 50+ pitches in the past two innings and just got 2TTO. Still a chance to win, which is about all you can ask from him.

We just don't play fundamentally sound baseball...on several levels. For a team that apparently puts a lot of weight on analytics, that just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. Do we even make an effort to teach and improve fundamentals? In the minors? Up here? It's baffling.

Really not sure why you're bringing out Sands for another inning. It might save you 1 or 2 outs at most, but it's more likely he gets hit hard the third time through.
