Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Looking at this on the internet it appears that the ump is calling balls when Pelfrey is throwing strikes. It's just a glitch.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 So, going to be one of those awesome 5 hour games tonight eh?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Vargas has thrown 71 pitches. Let's hope he starts throwing some meatballs.

snepp Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Florimon's "skills" on display again. It's a good thing he's been hitting like Jeter.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Not really a tough hop, Floor-E-Moan.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Outfield play is overrated by the average fan. Infield play is incredibly important.

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I am going home now to watch the Angels broadcast. I hope that the Twins are ahead when I get there.

edavis0308 Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Mauer doesn't hit enough home runs.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Three really good at-bats for Dozier. Maybe the Twins lucked into a good leadoff hitter? Of course, maybe Vargas isn't very good.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Outfield play is overrated by the average fan. Infield play is incredibly important. Perhaps it's not the outfield play being overrated, but the infield play being underrated.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 For a nanosecond I had a 5 Castro nightmare.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 There is no bigger crisis for the defense than a popup hit directly at the pitcher.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Listening to Dick and Bert talk about Sabrmetrics. Bert got into the Hall because of these stats and then implies they are useless? Surprised Dick said he thinks they are useful. He likely knows more about them than Terry Ryan.

Oxtung Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Bert: "I don't like sabermetrics..." "....but it did help me get into the Hall of Fame". Yeah he seemed to have no idea what he was talking about. He just kind of rambled. "They say that if Trout can keep up his statistics from last year he'll be ah...he'll be the next Mickey Mantle." So there you go...sabermetrics are the things that tell you Mike Trout is a really good baseball player.

big dog Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm surprised to see Pelfrey get through five after the last couple of innings. Sit him down and get him the win. Mauer's at .382 and Doh-mitt has two hits. Good things happenin.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 bottom of the 53rd I have to admit this sabr stat has me a bit confused.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 What happened to Wilkin? Anyone see?
snepp Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Call Arcia back up! After Ramirez remains day-to-day and unable to play for over a week, of course.
kydoty Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Hicks is the only healthy natural outfielder on the team right now.
