Twins pitching has been strong, but their defense is making them elite

The defense has been doing really well.  Correa is everything he was advertised to be as a shortstop.  Incredible defense.  What has been a bit of a surprise to me is Larnach.  I didn't know his arm was as strong and accurate as he is showing.  And, he seems more comfortable in the field this year.

This is actually a pretty pleasant surprise.  It's still early and there have been times that the defense was Yakity Sax inducing, but the defense has been better than I expected.

The two Platinum Glove winners up the middle are so fun to watch up the middle.

Urshella has been smooth, too. No bonehead plays from the catchers. I can only remember a couple of errors this season and I've watched the majority of the games.

Obviously Correa and Buxton. But when Kepler, Urshela, Polanco, and Jeffers are out there, we have plus defense almost everywhere we can stand it. If Kirilloff lands at 1B, and Larnach in LF, and that's the guys we are "hiding", we are doing pretty well.

And Martin and Lewis are only going to make this situation better.

It’s fun to watch. The difference in Correas throws compared to our shortstops of recent past is noticeable.

The Twins are second in runs allowed per game in the AL, trailing only the Yankees. It’s only twenty-something games, but this is totally unexpected. They’ve allowed only three unearned runs (and one of them was a ghost runner), so I would say defense has been a factor.
