I have a slightly OCD-ish colleague ... likes everything just so, in a certain order. Every day we come into the library, and flip the switches up to turn on the lights; and then, every night, we flip them down to turn off the lights. I reversed the switches so that you had to flip them down to turn them on, and up to turn them off. He got to the library and didn't know what to do. He immediately reversed them back so they were 'correct.'

Same colleague ... LOVES to correct people, on everything. In fact, he admitted how much he loves it, from pronunciation to, well, pretty much everything anyone says, not even related to work. So, every so often (well, a little more than every), I intentionally mispronounce things. Or, after he's corrected me, continue mispronouncing that word, as many times as I can that day. Not sure that's really a practical joke, but it works for me and my other colleague.

One time I reversed only the middle switch (out of 3) ... lol ... that was fun

That would drive me crazy, too! Every once in a while my wife uses the basement switch to turn the stairs light on or off, then the top-of-stairs switch to do the reverse, leaving it down=on, up=off. (I don't think she does it intentionally, but now you've got me wondering...) I have to immediately run down the stairs to put it back "correct'!

lol ... the other set of switches in the library are in the back and next to a door that only the building engineers use. They can come through that door into the library, but, there is no door handle so you can't go back through that door from the library into the 'entrails' of the building. So, there is no reason for us to ever use those switches ... except in 'fun' :)

I have this scenario too.  3 switches control the lights going downstairs.  They were all able to be down when the lights were off.  I'm in the middle of a remodel down there and the electrician moved one of the switches and now one has to be up all of the time and it annoys me.  I need to dig into that to make it the way it was.

Feels like Greinke should be a lot older than 38.

He still seems very young to Chief, and always will

At what point does carbon dating need to be used to confirm age?

Great to see Buxton in the lineup - who is his designated runner?

Some guy named Byron.  Don't recall his last night.  Runs like a deer.

So we're so confident that Buxton will not get on base that they didn't even put his designated runner on the active roster?

Maybe the FO is to blame for some things!

So far Twins have scored 3 runs in this series going against starters with ERA's in the 8 and 9's maybe they can put a 10 spot up against Grienke's 2.38 ERA.

The two hitters that most surprise me are Jeffers and Correa. I really expected more from both.

Jeffers?

Runs like a deer but slides like an albatross

Jeffers was a pretty highly regarded hitting prospect who hit well in a SSS in his rookie year. I'm also surprised just how bad he has been.

I mean, did people expect him to be hitting 148? If so, yikes. His reputation was as a hitter, not fielder. I keep thinking 250 with power....but, not yet, alas. SSS size, of course, but IN THAT SAMPLE, I'm surprised, yes.

This is why in the 'more surprised by' thread, I chose hitters. I mean, yes, while pleasantly surprised at the starting pitching, I felt that there was always the potential to be ... good enough ... but the hitting? I never expected it to be this bad. It's one big, team-wide, slump

6+ pitches per AB so far. How many pitches can Greinke go?

With or without the Twins hiter's help?
