Completely disagree. One of the biggest things you can do is shutdown a team after you score a run. The Twins have won 33 games and have held a lead in 30/48 losses. They've had the lead in 69/82 (including today) games they've played this year an will have 33 or 34 wins pending todays results.

So what you’re saying is the Twins should be expected to pitch a shutout just because we score a run in the first inning

That's not at all what I said, but you can sure twist my words to make it sound like it.

In a quick google search, from 2000-2010 the team that scored first won about 65% of the time. Without spending more time digging, I'm not sure what the stat would be nowadays but I can imagine it's changed too much. Scoring first, no matter when it happens, is importnat.

I wasn’t twisting anything

Jim Kaat: "Why don't they just have the pitcher go put the ball on a tee?" LOL

Can't fault him for saying it. Especially after making Alcala change his glove.

Jim Kaat is so smart and so quick-witted. It just points out how far the other BSN color guys have to go to achieve excellence.

I agree with him. That's why it's funny.

Yup. You are not alone.

I hope it’s Cruz that goes to the All Star game, he’s the best player on the Twins hands down

Ohtani has been better at the plate, but he's neck-and-neck with JD Martinez. Methinks he should get a spot on the bench for the All Star team.

Agreed, definitely no Twins pitcher should make it

I think they should put shock collars on umpires and whenever they make a bad ball or strike call the computer shocks him.

What say we also lock their eyes open Clockwork Orange style, (with eyedrops, of course) so they don't blink and miss something?

As long as we don’t clobber them with ceramic phallic symbols, that’s where I draw the line

Thumbs up!

Actually taking walks will make all the difference in his game!

I would just nod approvingly but withhold praise for now
