insagt1 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Twins deserve every bit of this mess. They might want to note how many runs scored with 2 outs...on singles....not roundhouse swings for the fences. Once again, the pen fails bigtime.I'm wondering, have the Twins come back late to win any game they have trailed past the 7th inning? Detroit is having fun at the Twins expense.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Donaldson can’t control what the pitcher on the mound does. Even if he cleanly transferred that ball, an out at home or first was far from guaranteed. It was an extremely difficult play.I have to agree. Though it was frustrating to see him drop the ball after a great catch, I don't think he could have thrown the runner out at first. He was virtually sitting down as I recall.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 What is the meaning of this post? And you posted it twice. ??I think the players deserve more criticism then they’ve been getting; Falvey and Baldelli have been getting ALL the blame. With the bullpen, Johnson has a large part in it.

But that is his calling card. That is one we need him to make. That is what he is paid for. To make the extremely difficult play. To finish the extremely difficult play. Count me disappointed. With the pitching, we need Donaldson to deliver. All the way. And you know better than me how ridiculous defensive stats are most of the time. The official scorers give away hits, and seem to not believe in errors anymore. (Not that I think this play was an error, at all. Extremely difficult.)

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Well good for Simmons and Donaldson. I was expecting a meek 1-2-3 inning from our guys after the big inning against them.

What he or she does is irrelevant to any metric worth a damn.

Stars need to be stars more often. Forgive me for expecting them to. Just trying to stay in the moment. I can't get into the total wreck......

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Author Posted May 8, 2021 When you get paid that much, you need to be great and finish. So for a player making the minimum you would be OK if he let it get by him?

Just trying to stay in the moment. I can't get into the total wreck...... I’ve moved past the anger phase already, but I’m a jaded fan of all minnesota teams so I go in expecting failure for the most part. Had high hopes for this bunch but it’s painfully obvious it’s not going to happen. So now I’ll just enjoy the train wreck and try to interject a little humor. There won’t be many posters left around here soon so might as well get it in while I can
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Brutal.... 6 inches outside. Rings up Polanco.

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 The best thing about the Twins is Annie Sabo!

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 How'd you like that strike 3 call against Polanco just now? I turned off the video feed. There’s enough filth on the television as it is

cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Could no Mike Bell, no Derek Shelton and no James Rowson be contributing to this?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Somebody tell Law it's still Spring Training. Maybe that will help. Fool him.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Could no Mike Bell, no Derek Shelton and no James Rowson be contributing to this? I really don't think having Mike Bell or Derek Shelton would have made this season better. Rowson on the otherhand, I do think had a lot of good influence on the lineup.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Could no Mike Bell, no Derek Shelton and no James Rowson be contributing to this?Possibly, but this team isn’t actually terrible at scoring runs, they’re terrible at scoring runs in specific innings, which is the weirdest **** I’ve ever seen and defies logic.
MABB1959 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Pathetic Bullpen. They could be kind to Berrios and trade him to a team that deserves him.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Miguel Cabrera had 6 hits for the entire season coming in to this series. he now has 10
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Somebody tell Law it's still Spring Training. Maybe that will help. Fool him. And then somebody else tell the rest of the team that it isn't Spring Training
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 One coaching staff change that needs to happen: Edgar Varela. I wanted him gone after last year; even more now.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
