Not surprising that Kirk is so against this vaccination. “If I die, I die” is an unforgettable quote. Seems like some of these players forget the NFL also stands for not for long… The league will move on just fine without them if they’re not obliging by the mutually agreed upon rules. 

I’m back on the Zimmer bandwagon now that he’s putting him and the team on blast.

My entire view of Cousins/Zimmer has done a 180.

Really disappointed in Cousins. If doesn't get vaccinated and he has to miss games because of it, he should be let go.

Can they void his guaranteed contract if they let him go? That's a lot of dead money for the Vikes to absorb. And what effect would that have on the salary cap? Just asking.

I've always been in the Josh Allen camp.  People were too down on him because they didn't realize just how terrible his supporting talent was his first few years.

And, brace for this, we're paying Cousins more AAV than the Bills are paying Allen.

Allen sounds like he’s just as gonzo of an antivaxer as cousins. Probably a blessing in disguise actually. Both awful human beings, so at least we can be done with ours without looking long term.

Please release Cousins. 2021 is over. Just get this done with. Selfish, and not worth it.

I was one of those people who thought he would be a bust in that draft class. Kudos to him for improving his accuracy, because that doesn’t usually happen. Dude had a 56% completion percentage at Wyoming, and didn’t start off great in the NFL either. Is the 11% jump in completion percentage for real? We shall see.

Well, good luck figuring out how to handle his $76M dead cap hit once you release him. ?

I do feel like it's too reactionary to say the "season is over". Sure, Kirk might miss a game or two... and I find the chances of a forfeited game to be incredibly slim since 70% of the roster is vaxed and the rest are split up by position (e. g. when Mond caught the virus, only the QBs hit the COVID list and nobody else).

I get it. The team is in a bind with that contract. They’ll be paying it one way or another though. I think your QB has to be a leader to be successful, and Cousins doesn’t want to be one. 
 

I can only imagine how pissed off Peterson, Zimmer and the other leaders of the team are right now. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me it’s unlikely a team can be meaningful if everyone resents the QB.

There isnt much of a hit for a trade though....or am I wrong on that?

It's $20M dead if traded this year, $10M next year, but the other team has to pick up the $56M guaranteed. The 49ers may have been an option to trade to, but since they moved 3 firsts for Lance, that's off the table. I don't know if any team would want to trade for Cousins and pay him $35M in 2022.

I suppose, though Kirk is likely going to be the 3rd best QB on the trade market after Rodgers and Watson (assuming his situation clears up, I think he gets moved over the 2022 offseason). 

The Colts have 4 years of Wentz, and they have him at roughly $26M a year through 2024, though the guarantees mostly protect him in his 2022, but moving him would be possible. It'd just be weird for them to move on so quickly. Teams like the Giants, Steelers, and Broncos would make sense.
