sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 You know, that C the Reds use as their logo looks strangely familiar... I confess, amongst the t-shirts i remember wearing as a kid was baseball player with a baseball head. I am pretty sure it was a Reds shirt. I have no idea why i had a shirt like that. Probably for the same reason i also wore a Mr. Bubbles t-shirt. The rest of my Cincinnati lore i attribute to Dr. Demento playing the following song: (Pop quiz: where did they get the video segments to go with that song?) Which would suggest a game thread theme to the astute TwinsDaily poster:The Horror. The Horror. Reds:0. Luis Castillo (R )1. Shogo Akiyama ( L) LF2. Jesse Winker ( L) RF3. Joey Votto ( L) 1B4. Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Oakland and Seattle are tied at 1 thru 6 innings, game 1 of doubleheader. Oakland wins make it more likely the Central division winner will be the #3 seed and play Houston...
denarded Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 It's funny how this site has relished facing Astros or Blue Jays in 1st round. I'm sure we would say the same if Reds were a team we could face. They are for sure going to lose 2 of 3 (which would eliminate you in the playoffs) and this lineup doesn't look very 'Winning' Hope I'm wrong and not trying to get cynical, but just upset for games we cashed in during the short season to rest guys (Only 60 Games!) Guys get hurt. Don't handle a whole roster with kids gloves. Done with rant.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 It's funny how this site has relished facing Astros or Blue Jays in 1st round.Just for the record, I'm not relishing any particular opponent! Just presenting the information. Oakland loses game 1, 5-1. Now tied with the Twins at 35-23, although Oakland holds the tiebreaker (better divisional record) so they are still #2 seed and Twins still sit at #3.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Twins can clinch the division with a win and a Sox loss
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Maybe Cruz needs longer naps.........

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 One of the worst hitting teams in the majors, against the team with the best home record in the majors. There’s only one logical explanation. It’s called a choke...Take a deep breath, clear all choke reflexes out of your system and win this fricken game
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 OK boys, let's get out of this now and get the offense in gear. We'll need it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 Just for the record, I'm not relishing any particular opponent! What about ketching up on any opponent? Pardon me, Oakland, do you have any Grey Poupon?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 So yeah, i coulda done a better job developing a horror theme. "No, don't go into the scary house!" "Don't throw that fastball down the middle!"
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 And Smeltzer warming up. This is kind of a chilling view of the Twins practicing for the playoffs.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 Oh yeah! Welcome back Arraez!
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I hope we start the playoffs facing the Yankees. No fear Twins Territory! Seriously, if we can't beat them into submission the Twins are not as good as we thought. For the record, I think we are a lot better team than the Yankees! Go Twins! Yankees blow!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 That's right. Arraez is the 2nd baseman. Must feel comfortable on 2nd now. As we are on our 2nd page. Let us get him home!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Holy cow what an AB for Arraez! Good to see him back and healthy. We will need his bat in the lineup.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 Cruz halves the deficit! Arraez makes it home safely!

Just the vibe of the board the last week.Sorry if you took it that way
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 ah--I see they listened to me and sat Sano down tonite. He should sit tomorrow too. And maybe even game 1. I have lost all confidence in him. Yes, he'll hit a mistake a long way...once every few games perhaps...but the k's and lack of any kind of hits makes him worse than a pitcher at bat. Harsh...perhaps, but you can't be batting around .100 for this long and expect to get AB's with playoffs looming. (not if you want to win anyway
