twinbythebay Verified Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 At 768, Clippard calls him a whippersnapper. Damn, I knew both of these guys had been around for awhile, but I didn't think either of them were that high on the list! And Clippard has never been on the DL/IL in his career either! They're both still incredibly effective as well. They've both got a ways to go to catch Twins favorites Eddie Guardado (908) and LaTroy Hawkins (1,042!)
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 My only doubt comes from the possibility of some team like the Yankees offering him an ungodly sum of money that the Twins aren't willing to match. I think Cruz likes playing for the Twins and if he wanted more money, he probably could have gotten it when he signed two years ago.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I wonder how often an MLB player starts a game at 1B and CF in the same week.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Pitcher for Cards, Ponce de Leon didn't find the new world and can't find the strike zone. Good night ahead for the Twins!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Interesting trivia: I have the Card's pitcher's rookie card. figured I'd preempt any age jokes.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Pitcher for Cards, Ponce de Leon didn't find the new world and can't find the strike zone. Good night ahead for the Twins! Just as long as he didn't find the Fountain of Youth and isn't Satchel Paige reincarnated.

It seems like I've read that Clippard is also the first or one of the first to have 11 straight seasons of 60+ innings in relief.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Wow! A starter in the second game of the doubleheader!

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Mrs Chief has been getting tired of my, uh....sense of humor. Just this morning, she looked at me and said "I'm sick of the dad jokes. Just stop." "How can I?" I asked. "Any means necessary." "Nope," I said. "It does not."
